I had 1h30 to eat & my booking confirmed. Seems we need 3 business days to eat in that place.
Booked & arrived on time but they kept seating other people queuing +20min.
Taking order for drink was fast, the one for food took another +15min & the food came 45min later.
I had to take my food away, I couldn't enjoy the place.
As a cafe owner myself, I would be ashamed of such slow service/kitchen.
Come on guys, your menu has about 6 dishes & sandwiches, there is not way you need 45min to warm them up.
We came here for drinks after hearing several good recommendations, but unfortunately our experience was the complete opposite.
Our server, Howie, was cold & dismissive from the start. As we were ordering, my friend mentioned that we were only planning to have drinks & asked if that was okay. His response was,'If that's okay with me,' in a very unfriendly tone, which immediately made us feel unwelcome.
After our drinks were brought out, he never came back to check on us. I understand that places can get busy, but we were there for over two & a half hours & not once did he ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything else.
When it was time to pay, he came over trying to remember what we had ordered. My friend tried to help by listing our drinks, & he responded with,'Absolutely, give me one second,' again in a very cold & rude manner. He processed the payment, walked away without a thank you or even a simple'Have a good day,' & that was the end of the interaction.
We spoke with the manager afterward, who apologized & said she would speak with him. She mentioned that the kitchen had been having issues, but that doesn't excuse treating customers poorly, especially when we were only there for drinks.
This is honestly one of the worst service experiences I've had at a café. Looking back, I don't think the service deserved a tip. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, & I wouldn't recommend this café to others. There are plenty of great cafés in the area, but Café Maman won't be one I'll be visiting again.
Really cute cafe, atmosphere was nice & really good service. Presentable food & really heavy plated, didn't expect so much food. Nice fresh ingredients but could use some flavour, or seasoning, the drinks/coffee was good.
Went here for brunch with a friend. We waited 10 minutes to be seated despite multiple empty tables on the patio. Once we were seated it took 20-30 minutes for our server to come check in with us so we could order drinks & food. Drinks were good & came within 10-15 min. Food took over an hour to come - we ordered the papa breakfast & pancakes with a side of fried chicken. I cut into the chicken & it was visibly raw in the centre - the person who brought the food out agreed it was raw & asked us to check the other fried chicken & it was raw as well. They took them back to the kitchen. By the time they had come back with the chicken - over 20 minutes later we were mostly finished our meals. They also brought out the same chicken cut in half & it was obvious they just threw it back in the deep fryer - it was black in some areas but obviously not raw anymore. I asked for my meal to be discounted as I was not going to be eating the chicken & the person said it was not possible. I again asked our waitress when it was time for the bills to get a discounted meal & the ?manager came out. Said it was not possible the chicken was raw & when I explained the situation she called the owner & they just removed my latte from the bill. Overall it was a bad experience, poor customer service & mediocre food.
I've been to maman 3 times twice for brunch & once for a'quick' coffee. Both times I've visited for brunch were amazing, the service was good, & the food was even better! They have seasonal & fun drinks that I'm always wanting to try. Today I went to grab a quick coffee with my friend & I'm sad to say I was disappointed with my experience. I went to try the tahini honey latte, I was lucky & there was a sign next to the cash so I just pointed at it. My friend decided to get the same, & when it came to pay for our 3 drinks & 3 pastries I DOUBLE checked to make sure it was the tahini honey lattes that we were getting & the poor person behind the cash looked new so I double checked for that reason & of course the order came out wrong. I was missing a cookie & turns out my drinks inputted as lavender lattes. When I said I ordered the tahini honey lattes, I was shocked when the other person asked me to pay the difference. Great overall customer service :)
We went on Easter Sunday so take this review with a grain of salt!
Overall, the food was tasty & they have a lot of options across drinks, coffee, pastries & brunch fare.
The food did take a long time to arrive, & they brought us the wrong drink (twice), but they were also apologetic, kind, & accommodating. Considering all this, I would still return!
