Came for lunch on a Friday. It took about 20 minutes until someone came to take our order, then another 40 minutes to get the food. I ordered the'healthy' pancakes which were good but they still seem to be very carby as my blood sugar skyrocketed after (I'm diabetic). Not their fault per se but still wouldn't count them as healthy.
The space gets very noisy & the tables are extremely close together & the chairs uncomfortable. Nowhere to hang coats & bags so I had to hold my backpack the entire time as the floor was wet & no space to put it. Disappointing experience.
Je suis venue pour le petit déjeuner où j'ai commandé un yogurt bowl tout simplement délicieux avec des fruits de qualité ! J'ai également pris un cappuccino au lait d'amande très bien réussi. Le cadre est agréable & les serveuses acceuillantes ☺?
Overall the place is great, the food was okay. However, it was extremely overpriced; I shared a salad with a friend & grabbed one dessert & that amounted to 60$. The waitress gave us attitude for not tipping, asking us if we're not from here & telling us we're obliged to tip lol. So if you're reading this, dear waitress, here's what the law says:
According to consumer-law & labour-law guidelines reviewed by Éducaloi (a well-known Québec legal resource), there is no law or regulation that obliges a customer to give a tip. It's treated as a voluntary gratuity, not a mandatory fee.
So for a waitress that didn't greet us when we entered, didn't offer crazy service & didn't respond when we said'thank you, byebye', I dont think we needed to tip you. Especially not after paying 60$ for two items.

Brunch chez Maman : top du top ! Le personnel est sympathique, attentionné & l'ambiance vraiment agréable. On s'est régalé du début à la fin, rien à redire. Une adresse que je recommande sans hésiter !

The carrot soup was excellent.
Maman's breakfast sandwich was good.
Papa's breakfast bowl was ok.

It's odd to say, but I loved the plates-they were very Instagrammable. However, the croissants were not fresh, & the pancakes were average. While some enjoyed the salmon toast, it wasn't to my taste. The service & atmosphere were both okay. Despite some disappointments, I wouldn't mind giving it another try.
What a wonderful restaurant!
Had a lovely brunch with my friend. Arrived there at 2pm. Waited 5 mins for a seat. The food came quickly, even though it was during rush hour. The staff were so welcoming. I am glad I have tried this iconic spot in NYC. Reservations are suggested during weekends as it can get packed pretty quickly, I will be coming back!
Their pistachio croissant is different than any other one you find in most places, not to mention the quality of anything you pick, & their coffee. Beautiful cozy vintage style decoration, like a hidden gem in a quiet part of city.
Avoid this restaurant during winter: drafty as hell every time someone opens the door! The cold made my experience there quite unpleasant. I don't expect to go back in the summer, as I will still be thawing my gluteus maximus…
