Our Go-To Breakfast Spot in Montreal!
We had breakfast here twice during our stay in Montreal, & it quickly became one of our favorite spots in the city. The food is fresh, tasty, & satisfying - perfect for starting the day right. Whether you're craving a classic New York-style bagel or something more filling, Mama N.Y.C. delivers.
What truly stood out was the warmth & kindness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, & made us feel right at home both times we visited.
Great atmosphere, great service, & great coffee - we'll definitely be back next time we're in town. Highly recommended!
We went on Easter Sunday so take this review with a grain of salt!
Overall, the food was tasty & they have a lot of options across drinks, coffee, pastries & brunch fare.
The food did take a long time to arrive, & they brought us the wrong drink (twice), but they were also apologetic, kind, & accommodating. Considering all this, I would still return!
I visited this charming rustic café & had a wonderful experience. The cozy, vintage-inspired ambiance made for a relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed a freshly brewed coffee that was rich & flavorful, paired with a delicious brunch that was both well-prepared & satisfying. The warm hospitality of the staff added to the overall experience. It's a great spot for a peaceful meal, & I'd definitely visit again!
I ordered one of the three recommended brunch options, ratatouille. It served hot with two slices of toast. It was like an omelet & tasted good, though nothing special. My friend ordered Papa's Breakfast, a bowl of veggies, tomato, bacon, & one egg.
The pastries, however, were delicious.
I would recommend this place for afternoon coffee but not for brunch.
On a positive note the decor & general vibe of the place is nice. The options & prices are reasonable. The food was a underwhelming but fine. The negative experience is primarily related to the service we received. Our server was polite, friendly & attentive… but 30 minutes before closing she started putting a lot of pressure on us to finish up & leave. We arrived around 2:45 pm & had just gotten our plates & champagne when the server asked us if we could move to another table so that she could… mop? I understand wanting to get your chores done so you can leave early but sweeping & pulling around dirty buckets of water while customers are eating is a little gross. I told her I didn't feel like moving (POV coffees, Champaign, juices, mimosas, waters, fresh plates of food etc) & I would like to just enjoy my meal until close. She continued returning to the table every few minutes to remind us we had to leave my 4 that we eventually were so uncomfortable that we just gave up on eating, chugged the mimosas & left. I wouldn't go back as I feel I paid a lot for a bad experience.
I mean the dreamy in me who loves the botanic style is to the moon! I enjoyed my brunch with my loved ones & the coffee was so tasty & delicious! Highly recommend.
I visited Maman for brunch, & it was an absolute delight. The aesthetics are unique & soothing, making you feel like you've stepped into a peaceful garden-a perfect escape from the city's hustle. The food was delicious, with unique flavors & recipes that stand out from the usual brunch fare. Don't expect your typical American breakfast here; the menu leans more towards a European vibe, offering a fresh & flavorful twist. Their coffees are just as impressive, especially the lattes, which are smooth, rich, & beautifully crafted. If you're looking for a cozy & charming spot with great food & coffee, this café is a must-visit!
Best coffee in town with best cookies!! Girl who works on Tuesday's best service!
delicious breakfast sandwich, good coffee & super cute atmosphere! Friendly servers & all around great experience :)
Overpriced & far too busy, not pleasant at all. People waiting for their take out coffees taking over the front of the restaurant. Tables are jammed close together. Our food was cold & people kept leaning over us to get cutlery / water / napkins. Really disappointing. It was so expensive! Not worth it I'm afraid.
Super cute café! The food was great. We got the potatoe breakfast bowl & their green goddess salad & coffee, of course! The salad was really great, I have their cookbook, so I will make this recipe! The potatoe bowl was great, too! Highly recommend this place. It's a cute place for a date or a brunch with friends or family. It's on the pricier end but will definitely come back with the hubby.
Food is good, but portions are normal sized, not brunch sized, & it's a little pricey, given you want to add things on to almost every plate. Potatoes are delicious & worth it. I got almond milk for my coffee & it looked like it curdled, which they said always happens with their milk... Never happens to me with almond milk at home so I find that strange.
Cute little coffee place near Lachine canal. It was my first time there, I tried the smoked salmon toast & my friend took the breakfast sandwich. It was delicious, but not incredible thats why I didnt give the fifth star. The service & the vibe were great! It's worth coming back to try new stuff for sure
The café had a wonderful ambiance, with cozy seating & a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly & knowledgeable about their coffee offerings & cakes. If you're a coffee lover visiting Montreal, this café is a must-visit for an exceptional coffee experience. I highly recommend it
I had a reservation for 5 at 11 AM. When I made the reservation I was told we would have the table until 12:30. I arrived 5 minutes early, before my guests, & was seated. At about 5 after 11, the hostess felt the need to tell me that my table would be needed at 12:30 regardless of the time the others arrived. This made us feel rushed from the get go. Although everyone was seated & ready to order by 11:30, we only received our food at 12. A little before 12:30, I asked for another cup of coffee which was brought to me in a to go cup. Again, we were being rushed out. Our server was very busy but good & we enjoyed the food. We did not appreciate the hostess who kept rushing us from the beginning. She said it herself that they give everyone a grace period of 15 minutes. I will not be returning. I did not appreciate the hostess's attitude.
We had amazing breakfast at Maman. The service was fantastic, they were super helpful & customized the coffee as per our needs.
One of the best brunch experiences in Montreal. The place is so cute & cozy (Rustic style) Loved the style of the dishes😍😍 Food was amazing Service was good You can also grab some pastries to go with a cup of coffee Highly recommend it !!
