Very excited to try this restaurant as we were told that the food was amazing & everyone was raving about it.
Ambiance 9/10
Decor was beautiful, chill with a tint of luxury. Did love the waiter's uniform. Changed from the regular black we see in all other restaurants.

The food was DELICIOUS. Honestly everything we ordered tasted so good & was so fresh. The grilled octopus HIT the spot, the free range chicken was juicy & so tasty & the lamb… listen, you just gotta go & try it for yoursel!! ⭐?⭐?⭐?
SERVICE 9'5/10
I only took out 0.5 because it seems that it was a busy night & our server was responsible for multiple tables which sometimes caused longer wait times for us to get his attention but that's not something YLIAN could control. He was wonderful from beginning to end, really chill vibe & demeanor & making sure he wasn't hovering over us. We did get a chance to have a nice conversation with him at the end of the night & he is a lovely young man! Wishing him the best in his future plans.
VALET 5/10
We found a parking when we arrived on the next street but used the valet service to make sure the car would be moved to the front of the restaurant whenever possible. It wasn't so we essentially paid to have our car parked where we left it the whole night & brought to us at the end of the night - we could have walked. 😅
All in all, I would go back cause I want to try everything on the menu!

Le service était impeccable! Un grand merci à Camel & sa formidable équipe. Le bagel saumon fumé est délicieux, tout comme le granola & le smoothie Berry Booster. Le décor est splendide, on se croirait dans un café nordique de Copenhague. On recommande chaleureusement!

Nous sommes allé 4 filles & avons toutes été déçues de la nourriture. Le décor est magnifique & les prix sont quand même élevés donc cela donne un style & la nourriture ne va pas dans le même sens!

A very elegant & beautiful restaurant. The ambience is very romantic & no pictures do it justice. The food itself is unforgettable, I felt like Remy from Ratatouille when he was tasting the cheese & strawberry. Every bite was a bliss to my taste buds. Our waiter was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the menu & gave us the perfect recommendations. Our personal favourite was the octopus appetizer. The waiters' service was very professional & attentive & engaging. Our glasses were never empty & our finished plates never lingered on our table.
My only regret is the coat service. Unfortunately, my partner's coat was dragged on the floor twice, & it was pretty upsetting to see. I don't believe it was done on purpose, but it was unexpected for such a high end restaurant. Otherwise, the young ladies at the reception were more than delightful & welcoming. They also answer the phone very quickly & are very helpful with any questions or requests.
The bathrooms are clean & gender neutral, so don't feel lost when you can't find the gendered bathroom signs. The entrance to the restaurant is through the Mama C café, there's a nice waiting area decorated by cozy couches & warm dimmed lights.
Overall, the experience was unforgettable & we have already recommended the restaurant to everyone we know. I can't wait to return. The presentation & flavors were exceptional - culinary artistry at its finest. My sincere compliments to the chef.

An amazing restaurant located in a renovated hotel, hotel Nellygan in old downtown Montreal. Amazing decoration, amazing ambience & the first drink at the bar.
We had some delicious dishes to share all of them with a great presentation & super nyami & then sea bass as a second, which was tasty, fresh & exquisite. We share 2 super tasty desserts that leave us without words. Definitely a place to go back again.

We weren't staying at the hotel but walked past & were so happy we stopped for breakfast, amazing decor, amazing food, really good value for money & the service (thanks Melissa!) was fantastic, they took our coats at the door!

I honestly don't understand why this place is only rated 4.4 as it deserves so much higher! I'll admit, I was hesitant to come after reading some of the reviews, but I'm so glad I did. I brought a client here, & we ended up ordering almost everything on the menu - every single dish was outstanding.
The octopus was perfectly seasoned & juicy, the moussaka was beautifully done, the Greek salad was fresh, & even the beef mignon was incredibly tender. The service, staff, decor, & ambiance were all impeccable.
I'll definitely be coming back with friends & clients alike. If you're reading this, don't let the online rating fool you, go try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

Merci à Niki & Jimmy pour leur service des plus attentionnés. Leurs excellents conseils ont guidé nos choix tout le long de la soirée - nous avons été comblés! Les plats étaient délicieux, le service professionnel, & l'élégance & la finesse du décor réalisé par Atelier Zébulon Perron nous ont transportés. Bref, nous avons passé un superbe soirée chez Mama C - merci à Niki er Jimmy & à la prochaine!

The food was very good, portions a bit small for my liking but overall it was a good experience. The atmosphere is good & the decor amazing. Where I had an issue is the service. We were a group of 7 people, the bill was over 1000$ & yet somehow got openly pressed by the staff that our « time » is almost up. I understand that they reserve the table for up to 2h & you have to leave afterwards but it was the first time that I order an additional portion of lamb chops & the answer from the server was « let me check with the kitchen if they can make it quick, because your time is almost up ». Found it profoundly disrespectful & sort of ruined the whole experience. After all, the restaurant business is also about hospitality not only filling up plates.

Je recommande fortement ce restaurant. La nourriture était fraîche & savoureuse. Les plats que j'avais choisis ont pour la plupart satisfait ma palette.
J'ai adoré le côté élégant, chaleureux mais à la fois intime du décor. Le personnel était attentif à mes demandes.
Habituellement, les expériences dans les restaurants ne m'impressionnent pas. Or celle-ci m'a beaucoup plu. J'y retournerai certainement.

I whole-heartedly recommend Mama C in Montreal's Vieux Port. The quality of everything that is presented here (the attention to detail in the decor, the atmosphere, the service, the creativity of the platings & recipes, the deliciousness of every dish, the many options available, the quantity of each portion & so much more) is incredibly high. We loved every dish, individual portions & shared ones, & we felt at home in a cozy atmosphere with a very attentive staff. Top notch! It is not inexpensive but it is absolutely worth it. Not just food but a beautiful experience that will stay with you for years to come. Thank you, Mama C! We will certainly return!

Absolutely loved my experience at Mama C! The atmosphere is warm & elegant, with stunning decor that feels like a perfect mix of Mediterranean charm & Old Montreal sophistication.
The food was phenomenal - fresh, vibrant, & beautifully plated. The dorade sashimi & the lamb shoulder (carved right at the table!) were absolute standouts.
A special shoutout to Leslie, the sommelière, who made our night extra special. Her wine recommendations were thoughtful & spot-on, & you could really feel her passion & deep knowledge. She brought a whole new layer of enjoyment to the meal - the wine pairings truly elevated each dish.
Service overall was excellent: attentive, friendly, & unrushed. Mama C is ideal for date night, a celebration, or just a memorable evening out. Can't wait to return!

Merveilleuse découverte. Nous avons d'abord été charmés par le décor moderne & chaleureux. Le service est impeccable. Beaucoup de personnel, attentionné & présent sans être envahissant. Une mention pour l'excellente prestation de Basil qui était aux petits soins & nous a bien conseillé de même qu'à la sommelière. Les mets sont raffinés & copieux. Tout est savoureux particulièrement la tyropita croustillante, la pieuvre & les trempettes. Bref une soirée parfaite. Si le prix est substantiel, c'est mérité pour cette escapade grecque d'une soirée.

Nous avons été attirés par le décor & la note sur Maps. L'accueil était très bien mais aussitôt assis on a compris que ce n'était que de l'apparence. La table nous arrivait à la poitrine & nous étions fort distants.
J'ai pris le toast à l'avocat avec oeufs pochés (2) c'était un beau plat en apparence à son arrivée mais ce n'était qu'un avocat tranché sur une tranche de pain sans aucune saveur & beaucoup trop d'avocat. Pas d'épices ou d'arômes. Il y avait de petits poivrons en dessous heureusement. J'ai pris le jus vert qui était très bien sans plus.
Mon conjoint a pris une omelette & un chocolat chaud tous deux très ordinaires.
Le tout pour 100$.
On y retournera pas.

The octopus was amazing, but the shrimp & orzo dish was our favorite. The sea bass tartare was fresh & delicious. We had the chocolate tart with pistachios, ice cream & beautiful lattes to end what was a truly phenomenal meal. Other people were talking about how amazing the lamb is, so we will have to go back to try that. Even the asparagus we ordered was charred to perfection with a citrus sauce, sprinkled with feta... Truly delicious!
The decor is beautiful & made up of marble & leather. We sat at an amazing table that looked out on a beautiful street in the heart of the old Port. All around us were little intimate places which are perfect for working or romance.
But it is the staff that take the experience to another level. Working together as a seamless team, everyone from the valet to the waiter & waitresses to the chef were attentive & kind.
We had a fabulous time from beginning to end. Truly a wonderful experience.
