About

Makro specializes in raw, grilled, and fried seafood preparations focused on the natural textures of ocean ingredients. The menu highlights Mediterranean-inspired preparations alongside techniques that emphasize the salinity and freshness of the catch. Patrons encounter a raw bar featuring oysters, crudo, and shrimp, while the kitchen employs high-heat grilling to char whole fish and crustacean selections. The physical space incorporates industrial design elements with communal seating, fostering an environment centered on direct access to ingredients. Salt, acidity, and aromatic herbs dictate the flavor profiles across the various plates. This establishment prioritizes a modern approach to the traditional fish house, stripped of complex garnishes to ensure the focus remains on the product itself. The arrangement of the room supports a fast-paced flow, reflecting the high-volume nature of fresh seafood service.

Excellent !!
Le surf & turf pour 4 personnes & les différents accompagnements (pdt aligot, choux de Bruxelles & champignons) étaient tous aussi succulents les uns que les autres.
Service impeccable.
On y retournera assurément pour s'offrir une belle soirée.

We thoroughly enjoyed our surf & turf & roasted beet side & baratta appetizer. The seafood & rib eye were cooked to perfection. The in-house steak sauce condiments were all delicious. The BBQ one reminded me of the Peter Luger steak sauce back in NYC. Coffee was delicious, as was the carrot cake. Service was also attentive & friendly. Unfortunately we will not return even though we live in Griffintown, as the music- which was extremely bass heavy & loud, was unbearable.

Dario was a fabulous bartender/waiter. He makes the best spicy margaritas in town. Service was great & good was outstanding. Thanks Dario for a great evening.

We had a terrible experience last Friday night at Makro (Friday August 14th 2020). One of the bus boys was not wearing his mask at all on his face, but rather on his chin. Given the current pandemic situation this was not appropriate. My younger cousin was incredibly uncomfortable with it but was trying her best to keep any comments to herself, despite the blatant breach of Quebec requirements. In an unbelievable turn of events, he came over to our table & instigated a confrontation, targeting her & asking "do you have a problem with me? Do you want to say something to me?" At this point we felt it appropriate to ask him to wear his mask, & his response was pretending not to understand us. He left the table without putting his mask on & was standing in the middle of the restaurant dancing by himself. We spoke to our waitress who was understanding & apologized & spoke to the bus boy. Once we were ready to leave, the bus boy came up to us & said "You have a problem with me, I am kicking you out" all while not wearing a mask. He then instigated the potential of a physical altercation with another member of our party.
This is completely unacceptable in any restaurant but, was truly unbelievable for one of this "alleged" calibre. It goes without saying our party of 6 will never even consider returning. They clearly do not take their patrons safety seriously & are more concerned with having their own party when they should be working & ensuring customer safety & experience.
Onto the food review: the lamb shanks were delicious, & the tuna rice cakes were excellent. However, the scallop dish was seasoned with taco seasoning, which completely overpowered the dish.
For anyone who is immuno-compromised or who associate with high risk people, please PLEASE do not go to this restaurant.

Conclusion: bon mais che
