View more
Pas pour un repasView more
I love , love this restaurant. I was looking forward to eating there for months now . A friend recommended it. The owner Ralph was personable , made my food on the spot after asking me a few questions . He treated my mother & I so well. We felt that we were having a private experience from the food to the service . The park across the street is a beautiful backdrop for this restaurant . I will be back & I've already share it with Friends I know are traveling to Montreal soon .View more
Makaya Chocolat & Bistro is hands down my favorite spot.
Every week, I drive over 30 minutes just to get their Creole Cajou Chicken with rice & beans-& let me tell you, as someone from the Caribbean, this is the best chicken I've had in a very long time.
The atmosphere is full of life & warmth, & the owner makes you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. You're greeted with smiles, laughter, & that unique Caribbean hospitality that's hard to find elsewhere.
Whether it's a regular visit or one of their themed weekend brunches, there's always something magical in the air. Makaya isn't just a restaurant-it's a whole vibe.View more

I am visiting Montréal from the States & my friend takes me here.
The food is amazing, the reception is so warm & caring. The servers have such manners, the decor is very cozy, & the owner comes to our table to ensure that everything was to our liking.
I would love to be able to come here more often. Too bad I don't live in Montreal.
But I am recommending this venue for casual outings, dates, tea time, & friends/family gatherings.
Thank you to everyone who made the experience wonderful for me.

Where passion, culture, & a culinary experience collide.
This gem of place, will transport you through courtesy, a great meal, & wonderful conversation. I describe it as a place because it's not only a restaurant it's also a place to experience your senses is on a different level.
The food is savoured.
The texture is intentional.
The temperature is part of the technique.
I will be returning to better understand what I'm writing about this place. There's something very unique about experiencing a meal here, something very authentic & inviting.View more

On April 3rd, I had a conversation with a friend regarding my trip from Florida to Montreal, during which she recommended visiting Makaya while in Montreal. Upon arrival, while driving to my sister's residence, I inadvertently entered Makaya's address into my GPS. When I arrived, the service exceeded my expectations. Those familiar with me know that I place a high value on excellent food & exceptional service, which is often difficult to find in Florida.
Subsequent to my visit to Makaya, I conducted research on the owner, Ralp, to expand my knowledge of his background & the underlying reasons for the exceptional service, which revealed his distinguished status as a Haitian icon. The service on Sunday evening proved to be even more exceptional than the outstanding experience of Saturday night. Ralp, I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for the superb treatment & warm hospitality I received, which culminated in an extraordinary experience; I am committed to making Makaya a regular destination during my future visits to Montreal. I offer my sincerest wishes for your continued prosperity & success.View more
I had the pleasure of dining at THIS Haitian Bistro, & it was truly an unforgettable experience. The spices in the dishes warmed the soul, & the chef was just as warm & accommodating, making us feel right at home. We started with the bread soup, which was an explosion of flavor-rich, comforting, & full of depth. It was more than just a dish; it was an experience. Even the PURE chocolate dessert exceeded expectations, adding a perfect touch to our meal. The vibe inside was absolutely ideal for a date, with a cozy & welcoming atmosphere that made the evening feel even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy flavors in a charming setting!View more
Belle place, bon service. Merci Makaya!View more
