I haven't been to Montreal in almost 5 years & there was no doubt that our first dinner would be at Maiko. It didn't disappoint. Maiko's sushi is fabulous & fresh & the ambience is lovely. The only problem is that it has once again ruined me for the sushi available in my city.

Maiko is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always amazing. I took off one star because at last night's dinner, we ordered the Omakase for 2. It should have 4 services. We were given a big platter of maki & sashimi & then the bill. On the bill it said "evantail 2" which is the platter for 2. It wasn't what we ordered. It was delicious & we've ordered the platter before. But we really wanted to try the Omakase this time. Our reservation was on the late side 8:30pm & we can understand if they couldn't give us the omakase due to time constraints, but we were never told that. Or maybe the waiter just punched in our order wrong. I don't know. Food was still amazing, just a bummer because we didn't get what we ordered.

Sushi was phenomenal, restaurant ambiance was nice. Service was a bit slow & more water refills would have been nice, but all in all it was a marvellous first experience at Maiko Sushi. Would highly recommend !!!
