I have done this review already but here it is again. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was super loud & noisy & it didn't help that the tables are way too close together. Much too squished.
The food was delicious. But the ambiance was questionable. I only say that because the tables were just inches from each other. We felt 'very' squishy! & it was extremely loud. It would be nice if there was a little bit of extra space between tables so it didn't feel like we were dining 'on top of' each other.
Amazing sushi & awesome service. The best sushi restaurant in the West Island by far & the beautiful interior design of the space elevates the experience even further. I would highly recommend Maiko.

We had not been to Maiko Sushi in quite a number of years. We had remembered it being quite good, but we were very disappointed last night. Although the food quality was indeed exceptional, & beautifully presented, everything else was pretty much a fail. The place is too noisy to carry on a proper conversation, with the back beat of the music adding to an already crowded restaurant, & the tables are placed so close together that the diners & servers could hardly pass through. In fact, our server had to interrupt taking our orders to let others pass by. Then there was the extreme tardiness of the service. It took 45 minutes for even our first courses to arrive, & about 90 minutes for the main course, by which time we were all very hungry. What truly disappointed me is that, despite the inordinate wait that at that pretty much negated how good the food itself was, no one offered anything to us to express a small token of gratitude for our patience. It though that this was very poor customer relations.
C'est toujours délicieux chez Maiko DDO - juste petite remarque, les suchis (makis) avaient beaucoup trop de riz. Aussi, le service était très bien avec la gentille & souriante serveuse. Elle a même pris en note toutes les intolérances du couple qui nous accompagnait. Petit hic, le garçon de table qui est venu à la course enlever nos napperons & tout ce qui restait sur la table avec beaucoup d'empressement pendant que nous prenions thé/café, il aurait pu dire, si vous ne voyez pas d'objection, je vais débarasser la table...
On a aussi pris en compte ma demande d'une table éloignée de la porte d'entrée : très apprécié.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE at this beautiful restaurant. We were served by Mike & the service was a 12/10!!!! Beautiful owner who keeps an eye on everything & everything runs smoothly. Fantastic highly recommend fresh fish, beautiful presentation!! Will return. Thank you!!
