Poisson, a quaint restaurant known for its unique dining proposition. It shares its space with Yi Fang, offering an intriguing option to pair meals with bubble tea-a delightful touch for those keen on a diverse dining experience. However, accessing M. Poisson presents a bit of a challenge due to its location. Like many establishments in bustling urban areas, finding parking can be tricky. Moreover, the restaurant's entry is stair-only, posing an accessibility issue for individuals with mobility impairments. Despite these logistical hurdles, the dining experience at M. Poisson is nothing short of remarkable. On a day when the allure of fish soup eluded me, I opted for a custom order, substituting fish with beef in my soup, complemented by wood ear mushrooms & a side of rice. Even though the restaurant was not crowded, with just one other table occupied, it was clear that M. Poisson thrives on a brisk trade of takeout & delivery orders. Impressively, this did not detract from our service speed, as our meals arrived promptly. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the spicy sauerkraut soup base. Its masterful blend of spice & sourness was a palate pleaser, perfectly complementing the generous portions of beef & mushrooms. The pricing was the cherry on top, offering great value for such quality fare. M. Poisson has certainly earned its spot on my list of must-visit restaurants. Its blend of quality, value, & unique offerings, despite the minor inconveniences of location & access, make it a worthwhile location.
I regularly get takeout from here. Piping hot fish soup is especially nice on a cold winter day. Generous portion & fair prices. The Schezuan Peppercorn & the Spicy Sauerkraut are my go to. The only thing I would improve is the consistency. Sometimes the soup is lacking in seasoning, or isn't spicy enough. Other than that, great spot for comfort food.
Good food but there's some translation error with the menu. & it takes some time to prepare the food.
Very good. I will come back. The spicy is authentic & the flavours simply delicious. Je vais y retourner sans faute.
Honestly when going into Montreals China town you should really go in here, the food is amazing with it being put on the table in 7 minutes. The atmosphere is really nice. Has a very nice chef. 4.5 out of 5 in my opinion.
Great variety & the tea was great. But $12 for milk, water, sugar, tea & ice is getting out of hand.
This is my absolute most favourite restaurant in mtl. Szechuan Fish stew is hard to come by in montreal. They do it perfectly. Portions are good. Price is good. Always impressed everytime i come. Highly recommend!!!!
Very nice sauerkraut fish that taste like home! Right amount of spice & damn gooooood! Will be back~
