This was my first Syrian brunch, & it happened on one of those quiet girls' days that stay with you. Just me, my aunt, & my cousin, nowhere to rush off to, choosing a table & choosing each other.

We went to Leymoun, tucked along Rue Dudemaine. Walking in felt less like entering a restaurant & more like being welcomed into someone's home. No waiting, no hovering, no pressure to order fast. Just space to settle in, sip slowly, & talk as long as we wanted.

Brunch started the way it should. With tea.

A big pot of black tea, steeped in-house & ready by the time brunch rolls around. Bold, fragrant, grounding. The kind of tea that invites you to pour another cup without thinking.

What we shared felt designed for lingering.

Petit Déjeuner Platter
A generous spread of Syrian breakfast staples meant to be passed around. Creamy dips, salty cheeses, crunchy vegetables, warm falafel, juicy green olives, & a homemade fig jam that honestly tasted like sunshine. Pomegranate seeds scattered across the plate added little bursts of brightness that kept pulling me back in.

Fatté Hummus au Shawarma
This was the favorite at the table. Creamy hummus layered with yogurt & tahini, topped with tender chicken shawarma, grilled almonds, & crispy pita chips. Rich, tangy, crunchy, spiced. Every bite felt complete.

Shakshuka
Comfort in its simplest form. Soft feta-topped eggs, sautéed onions, tomatoes, & peppers. Nothing fussy. Just satisfying & warm.

Fried Halloumi with Leymoun Sauce
The surprise star. Salty, golden halloumi paired with their signature za'atar, honey, & sesame sauce. Sweet, salty, herby, a little sticky, & very addictive.

Everything tasted thoughtful. Like it was made with the intention of being shared. Plates kept moving, conversations kept unfolding, & time quietly stretched.

This is the kind of brunch that doesn't rush you out the door. It turns into an afternoon without asking.

Foxy Tip: Come with people you love, order for the table, & don't watch the clock. Leymoun is about slowing down & savoring more than just the food. The stories matter too.

I share local gems & cultural eats over on ig @foxyappetite & TikTok @foxy.appetite, & this one truly earned its place.

This meal was comped as part of a media preview. Sharing my honest thoughts above.

I was there initially with my GF, & went back with friends & both time the service was amazing, the food tasted as amazing as it did the first time! I would strongly suggest to try out their breakfast platter. If you can, it's a lot of food but I promise it's delicious! Try their fatté hummmus & fried halloumi!

Had a nice Syrian breakfast at Leymoun! We tried most of their options such as foul, fatté, eggs & fried halloumi. Everything was delicious. Unlike other Syrian brunch that usually only serve tea, they also served coffee & lemonade. Their lemonade is really good & refreshing! The service was amazing, very nice owner. The restaurant was a bit hot though, they should add an A/C or more fans.

This family-run restaurant was like a warm hug from your grandma's kitchen. The food was absolutely scrumptious, & I wish I had the space to indulge in every single dish. But you have to try the fried hallomi cheese - it's a must-have!

Ordered the platter & it was so good, also ended up getting the hummus & fried halloumi cheese & both were 5/5. The shakshooka was also really good, & the service was extremely friendly as well. Loved it & I will definitely be back!

It's genuinely the best middle eastern place I've tried in Montreal/Laval, staff is caring & friendly, food is fresh & top quality, we love the falafel. We recommend the flavoured lemonade, the fried cheese sticks with honey & to be honest… everything else! Thank you Leymoun for always serving the best quality !

The reception was very professional & kind. All smiles & warmth! They took the time to explain the menu & helped us with selecting our lunch. We ordered fried halloumi, shawarma dish & Beef dish with tea. Firstly, the portions are generous. We had to leave with a to-go plate. The flavors are definitely there, a beautiful blend of spices. We can taste the freshness also. Nothing spicy however. We ordered black tea on the side & truly enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was practically full at 2pm on a Saturday which says a lot. I paid about 49$ (chicken shawarma, 1/2 tea, 1/2 grilled Halloumi). My only recommendation would be to be more generous in the quantity of beef. I'll definitely be back!!

The prices & quantities are very reasonable. We were 2 & we took 3 plates of foul, one of eggs with awarma, pot of tea & fried cheese rolls. The owner was very warm, welcoming & friendly. We took the foul mdamass which tasted home made & made with love, the foul b laban which was very good & very light & the balil which was also fresh, citrusy & light. I would definitely go back & recommend.

What a gem of a restaurant in the neighbourhood. The owner is welcoming & kindly explains the menu to you if you're not familiar with the cuisine. The place is warm & homey, very simple & unpretentious. The food itself is fresh & flavourful, with options of dishes that can be easily shared. Portions & prices are both very reasonable. This is a good brunch place to come with your family (even with kids)! I particularly enjoyed the fried halloumi with spiced honey & look forward to trying more of their dishes.
