The best Mexican cuisine, with the authentic flavor of Mexico in every bite! Fresh, handmade tortillas, vibrant flavors, and authentic Mexican dishes are waiting for you.
L'Estancia is described as a lively, family run spot in Montreal offering authentic Mexican flavors with generous portions and homemade tortillas. The menu spans birria and pastor tacos, chorizo and gobernador varieties, huaraches, burritos, quesadillas and a brunch lineup, all praised for bold flavors and solid execution. The atmosphere is colorful and welcoming, with a vibe that feels like a mini escape to Mexico and occasional live music. Drinks, especially margaritas and horchata, are frequently highlighted as strong accompaniments to the food. Service is generally friendly and attentive, though some visits note slower pacing or occasional inconsistencies during busy times. Overall, reviewers rate L'Estancia highly as a top Mexican option in Montreal, praising authentic taste, generous portions, and good value while a few dishes or moments of service fall short on occasion. It remains a popular pick for gatherings, brunch, and casual dinners, with many saying they would return to explore more of the menu.
Enchiladas with super sour green sauce, probably from a can, & red sauce, not bad, 6/10. Tacos al pastor, not much meat for the price, & the menu says 4 but I got 3, but the flavor was pretty good, 10/10. Quesadilla 8/10, the tortilla was too brown & not fresh. Huarache was really good, generous, & tasty 10/10, & their Mexican bread was awesome, just like at home. The downside is that, like in Mexico, they use a lot of vegetable oil or margarine. I'll be back for sure, hope will be better next time

As a Mexican, this restaurant has the best guacamole I've eaten in a long time + home made totopos! Thank you for bringing my mom's'sazón' to Montreal! Also, kudos on your little'panadería' pantry, it's so cool!
Seen this place on ig a couple weeks ago & we decided to hit up L' Estancia when we had that taco craving.. let me tell you, we were not disappointed! Drinks were fantastic as well as the food! They are doing really well running this place. Food came out hot & pretty quick. Service was excellent especially since the waiter was alone for money of the time we were here.
If you are having that craving for Mexican food ?? Hit up L' Estancia & tell em'
A quiet place to eat, with a very Mexican atmosphere. They don't make you wait too long for your food. The servers are very friendly, & the food tastes good.

It's hard to mess up Mexican food. The dishes were I guess okay but nothing to write home about. Lamb barbacoa tacos messy & a bit soggy. Red chilaquiles not bad. Decided to eat as leftovers. 😅
Authentic mexican restaurant, serving huge portions & delicious flavors. The birria tacos are filled with amazing meat & lots of cheese. Love the shrimp tacos (gobernador).
I was super impressed with the GIANT margarita! Definitely the star of the show.
Overall, I had a great experience with good service :) the decoration inside the restaurant is a direct flight to Mexico.
The food was amazing. I had the huarache, half pastor half birria & it was very good, I'm mexican & I felt at home. The service could be a little faster, but our waiter & bartender was very nice to us. Definitely coming back

If you're looking for flavour packed Mexican food, this is your spot! Quaint little restaurant, family owned, decent prices, & friendly service. Guacamole was fresh & a perfect balance between salty, sour, & rich/creamy. Quesadilla & tacos were generously portioned with meat & toppings. Crispy & flavourful. Would definitely come back again!

Atmosphere & Decor
From the moment you walk in, L'Estancia charms you with its lively, joyful aesthetic. Think bold murals, playful visuals, & a kaleidoscope of color that practically begs to be photographed. The lighting is flattering, the art is fun, & the playlist adds energy without overpowering conversation. It's the kind of space that instantly lifts your mood-ideal for catching up with friends or snapping a brunch selfie (or three).

Food & Drink
I went with the El Chechito ($21.45), a well-composed plate that included:
• Two perfectly cooked eggs
• Crispy bacon
• A half mollete (an open-faced Mexican sandwich) layered with beans & fresh pico de gallo, served on bread that hit the sweet spot: crispy outside, soft inside
• Seasoned breakfast potatoes
• A red fruit crêpe to satisfy that sweet brunch craving
Every element played its part, but the mollete was the real MVP-warm, comforting, & packed with flavor & texture. The fruit crêpe was a lovely contrast, adding a light, tangy-sweet finish to the meal. I especially appreciated the use of fresh berries & whipped cream instead of the overdone banana combo you see everywhere else.
To drink, I had a Cosmopolitan ($13), which was bright, balanced, & not overly sweet-surprisingly perfect with brunch. My aunt ordered an espresso martini made with rum, which gave the classic a smooth, tropical spin she couldn't stop raving about.

Service
The service was a strong point-warm, attentive, & genuinely welcoming. Staff knew the menu well & were quick to offer helpful suggestions. Food & drinks came out at just the right pace, giving us time to relax & enjoy without feeling rushed.

Final Thoughts
L'Estancia isn't just a place to eat-it's a vibe. Whether you're out for a brunch date, reconnecting with friends, or flying solo & treating yourself, this spot delivers an experience that's both flavorful & fun. With its New Mexican twist, thoughtful menu, & ultra-Instagrammable decor, it's easily one of the more memorable brunches in Montreal.
Pro tip: Snap a few pics while you're there-the ambiance deserves a spot on your feed.
El pastor estaba dulce, y no parece comida mexicana /: me cayó pesado. El servicio bueno. Pero la comida le falta mucho sabor.
Pedí una quesadilla y estaba frita y se sentía vieja la tortillas.
