I have ordered birthday cakes for my children from this bakery many times, but this experience was extremely disappointing.
I ordered two cakes, & one of them arrived with a large amount of moldy fruits on it. Not only was it unsafe to eat, but it was also not the size that I had ordered. As a result, I had to throw away a significant portion of the cake because serving it would have posed a health risk.
Having a birthday cake ruined by poor quality control put a damper on what should have been a special celebration. To make matters worse, the only compensation offered was a refund for that specific cake, & only if I came back to the store myself to get this refund (I told them that this is a long drive though).
Finding mold in a cake is unacceptable. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in the bakery, & I would not feel comfortable ordering a birthday cake here again. I expected much better quality & customer service.
Lafrenière is a good player. He works well in the corners. Okay, he's not the best & Stutzle would have been a better pick, but he's an honest 2nd liner.
Lafrenaie is a bit like the player. An honest bakery you can rely on to provide above average goods. Cause you know man, you don't always have the time to go to Alati Caserta. Fraaaa

I had a very pleasant experience with Les délices Lafrenaie Saint-Léonard. I requested a custom cake for the engagement party of my friend &, even though I've enjoyed this bakery for a long time now, I was a little stressed about the outcome of that specific custome cake. However, I could not have been more happy with the result - they delivered a cake that was exactly like the picture shown! Not only was it beautiful, it was also delicious & such a hit at the party! They took the time to answer all my questions & delivered a final product that was above & beyond! Thank you to the team & a special thank you also to Victoria who was very patient & professional !
It's a pick up & leave bakery, so don't expect a seating area. It's got a lot of products, Poe's, cakes, little cakes, panatone, & other Italian baked goods. Call or email them before going if you want something specific. Bakery quality cakes for a better price than elsewhere. Got the pistachio cake & everyone was impressed!
Amazing discovery. This bakery is top tier. Great selection of cakes, pastries, Italian products & so much more. The cakes are DELICIOUS! Moist, flavourful, not too sweet, well balanced. The Biscoff is so tasty. Prices are very fair, will now go back for every celebration. Note that they only take cash or debit.
One of, if not the best bakery in Montreal. Everything here from the zeppole to the cakes are out of this world. They have everything you need for all kinds of occasions. Can't recommend this & all the other stores enough.
