Went back in the occasion of MTLàTable. This establishment displays an extensive & complete wine list, as many red & white. I chose dishes to complement the wine rather than selecting wine to pair with my meal. The culinary delights were exquisite & the staff demonstrated remarkable knowledge of their vast wine collection. This bistro bar definitely lives up to its name "Les Cavistes".View more
I've been there three times now & I cannot say I am very impressed. Although the wine selection is great (it is their specialty after all), the food is always "meh". The long menu should be enough of a clue, I guess. It's not bad but at that price tag, I wish it was better, more creative. There are better options on Fleury. Terrace is cute but always full during summer. Inside is cramped. Service was very good.View more
For us, Les Cavistes is the to go to restaurant in our neighbourhood. It is always excellent, super service, great atmosphere. They have a well thought out terrace. Being wine lovers, most of their wines are private imports. The ideal place to discover new varietals. .View more
Cute French restaurant. We came for lunch the coffee was good . I came here a year ago as I was from out of town & the food was really good than so I thought to come back. It was expensive for what it is. It wasn't anything outstanding this time around. We had the muscles I found the fruit was a very odd addition to it. Their blood pudding was a hit if your into that. If you are looking for a cute patio, sure come for some drinks they have a good wine list. Nothing was exciting on the lunch menu . I suggest going on the weekend or just dinner.View more
Food was overall pretty good, presentation was creative & colorful. Service was average with some long absences when we had to fill up our glasses of wine by ourself (isn't that why we pay tips, to be served ?). Atmosphere was nice with high ceilings & warm decoration & great accoustic that allows people to hear each other easily.View more

Nice homely / neighbourly atmosphere. Good choice of wine & solid menu. Attended a presentation / tasting on Feb.11 on sparkling wines & learnt a great deal on the methods, history, geography concerning these wonderful wines. Arnaud was presenting & was great overall, he gave many useful examples & was generous in answering any (basic) questions we had.View more
We decided to have our annual Christmas outing among the lights on a more low key area this year so we decided to try. Surpassing all our expectations, larger than anticipated portions & delicious creative dishes made our night a memorable one indeed. A very complete wine collection, excellent entrées, soup & meats of the day, & wonderful desserts (we tried a few 😅). Everything was incredibly made & presented. I really wanted to love this place. The service was fantastic, great vibe, the food looked incredible, everything was fresh but really lacking in flavour. Maybe I've been too spoiled by other Montreal restaurants, but the taste just wasn't there for me (to be honest the fig tart tasted of nothing!) & I found it a bit expensive considering what I could get for the same price elsewhere. Great selection of wine & again the service was wonderful!View more
I have to agree with other reviewers, the food is ok but definitely nothing outstanding. A bit overpriced for what you get. The wine was very good, the service excellent, but unfortunately in terms of food the restaurant fell short for Montreal standards.View more

I call this a hidden gem located in a quiet neighborhood serving well prepared meals coupled with an exceptional wine & beverage list. I had sea bass, & my friends had steak ending with a variety of desserts. Definitely a re-visit & recommend to all.

The food was incredible. Our waitress was very pleasant & knowledgeable. She chose lovely wine to go with each of our delicious mains (rabbit pasta, cassoulet, steak frites, sea bass).

via LibroWeird to say but service was too fast. Ordered a glasses of Cava, entrees came about 2 mins after we got our glasses...Main course came right after we finished our entrees. Would have had red wine, but the food came so fast we didn't finish our first glass before having finished our whole meal... Would have been nicer to have some more time & be able to pair our meal with red wine...
