Les Canailles is a lovely French bistro located in the new HOMA, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve area, which is developing at a fast pace. This restaurant, where you can bring your own wine has put in place a popular new concept of open kitchen on the dining room. The super friendly service and the excellent French cuisine are much appreciated by the clientele. The menu is amazingly interesting and makes it difficult to choose. There is a great choice of fresh fishes and seafood. Recently opened by the same experienced and well-known team of the restaurants: Monsieur B, O Thym, Les Héritiers and L'Emporte-Pièce, this new restaurant has easily made its place in the area. Très bien, entrée de thon crudités excellente, beignets de morue ... avec de la morue, excellent également. Tartare de boeuf bien assaisonné, magret de canard cuit comme il se doit, saignant. Même la tarte de fraise était très réussie.
Seul petit bémol: le 4eme service de la table d'hôte est un trou normand, on aurait préféré une mise en bouche comme 4eme service, le trou normand étant normalement servi à l'occasion de menu plus copieux , genre 5 services ou plus.

Nourriture excellente. Environnement chaleureux. Accueil courtois. Seul amélioration est le service. Pour la première fois de ma vie, on s'est fait demander de quitter pour le prochain service. Le resto était 75% vide & personne en attente pour entrer. Un peu cavalier le serveur.
The service was amazing. Our waiter was friendly & the place is cozy. The plates were tasty & love the salmon tartare & the foie gras. Oysters are 1$ on Sundays. The only feedback is the menu. The menu is a bit limited & some of the plates were also found in appetizers but I would still go back.
Definitely recommend - although I feel the food quality was ever so slightly lacking the last time I went. The beignets de morue were quite chewy & my medium rare entrecôte was more on the medium side - but excellent nonetheless. The dessert (parfait au fromage) was, as always, to die for!

It's been the third times in the past 3 months, excellent food, the service is excellent & the people are smiling ans very friendly, I strongly recommend this place
Le repas est loin d'être à la hauteur du coût....un problème à la cuisine, repas brûlé...je n'ai jamais mangé des moules aussi secs, lottes & pieuvres caoutchouc
Bonne bouffe & belle ambiance,
Seule critique, demande pas la demande pas la cuisson du steak, pas de couteau & steak & 1 ou 2 croutons de plus avec le tartare serait apprécié.
