Some of the best, most authentic Polish food in Montreal! I tried the handmade pierogies, borscht, kielbasa, potato pancakes & coleslaw - everything was delicious. Although they are currently renovating (the dining area was closed), the owner kindly let me buy some frozen items, which were great at home. Located conveniently between the Ville Lasalle library & fire station, I'll definitely be back when they reopen in March! The dining space is small but cozy, & I believe they also have a food truck & do catering. A hidden gem!
I came here on a whim for lunch as it's in my area & I'm trying to discover new restaurants. It did not disappoint! I had an order of potato & cheese pierogis & a sausage & it was all delicious! They have 5 different kinds of pierogi & a small but good assortment of comfort food including poutine. The owner also sells fresh eggs from up north! I'll definitely be back.
I was looking for something new to try & found this place on google. Inside had super cute warm homey vibes. When i got in the owner greeted me & was super nice & asked me if i ever had fresh pierogies. It was my first time so i took the classic potato & cheese filled pierogies topped with bacon (you can ask without if you're vegetarian) & comes with sour cream to dip it in. It was freshly made, hot & delicious! The owner also gave me a free side of cabbage salad since it was my first time trying fresh pierogies! :) There were other kinds of filling for the pierogies & they had other options to choose from too 10/10 would recommend!

Why not Polish food tonight? Living in Montreal, we have the luxury of people from all over the world sharing their recipes & taste of their motherland. Pyza is a mom & pop shop locally owned & willing to make sure you are happy with what you are eating. Stop in, like I did, for some food to go. Perogis, potatoe pancakes, & cabbage rolls. All made there on the spot with fresh ingredients & not artificial additives. Eat well, healthy, & authentic. This place cares & you are encouraging local people. Why not? You won't regret it. Thank you to the Pyza team for bringing great food to our community!!!
I went in to try their pierogies. I had the cheese & potato stuffed pierogies that are served with bacon, green onion & sour cream. They offered me a side coleslaw salad which had a light sweetness & low acidity. Overall great experience, I will definitely be going back to buy the pierogies you can cook at home. They were delicious & much better than what I've found in grocery stores. Definitely a place to check out.
Today, Monday July 15, 2024 we ate at Pyza at 1256 Dollard Street, LaSalle next to the Fire Station. We ordered potatoe/onion, potatoe/mushroom, cheese/potatoe & spinach/feta. We also had an order of potatoe pancakes. Everything was super good, the owner (Suavek) is very friendly & accomodating. This was our first time at this restaurant & he chose to have us choose 2 different pierogies on our dish. My husband & I tasted all 4 pierogies & all 4 very good & tasty. He makes homemade coleslaw which is equally delicious. He also made us taste the polish sausage which is very good. We'll be back for sure:) Pamela & Andy
