Through revisited traditional recipes, the restaurant celebrates the authentic flavors of sub-Saharan Africa, while showcasing local Quebec products.

Stopped in here by chance, & so happy we did on our first night in Montreal. Every bite was incredible. The food took a fair while to come out, but it was worth it when it did. Highly recommend the Duck breast dish & the Rainbow Trout dish!

Nous sommes allé 3 fois jusqu'à présent & sommes toujours aussi satisfait. Les plats sont savoureux & les ingrédients de qualité (majoritairement de source locale). La carte des vins est intéressante & pour tous les goûts. Ça vaut également le coup de commencer par un de leurs cocktails signatures qui nous ont jamais déçus jusqu'à présent. Le service est également excellent & personnalisé. On apprécie également l'ambiance. La musique n'est pas trop forte ce qui nous permet de s'entendre parler. À noter que les plats ne sont pas piquants pour ceux que ça pourrait inquiéter !

THIS PLACE IS CRAZY GOOD! The dishes (the appetizers, the goat main, those plantain beignet fritters), the paired wines... & the lovely service. I come here every year for my birthday meal & this might be our favourite Le Virunga meal yet!

Le Virunga nous a offer une experience memorable. Les plats sont creatifs incroyablement gouteux avec le parfait dosage d epices. Le menu 5 services avec vins associés etait proche de la perfection. Pour un prix presque 2 fois inferieur aux menus degustation classiques a Montreal. Nous y retourneront les yeux fermés.

Amazing food if you want to discover African -inspired food. I don't think it's for everybody, but we did enjoy our meal, & everything was fresh with a nice presentation. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, & the service was also good!

I'm happy I stepped into this restaurant during my visit to MTL. I was intrigued by the restaurant concept & they certainly did not disappoint. The food was delicious & well presented(just would have preferred a bit less greens); service was top notch & I left well fed in a great mood.

Plats savoureux & relevés à souhait. Ingrédients de qualité, bonnes cuissons, bien exécuté dans l'ensemble. Par contre, mon plat principal était à peine plus gros que l'entrée & le dessert: comme légumes, un demi bébé bok choy, & une demie petite betterave. Deux adultes qui passent à travers la carte: mon conjoint & moi sommes restés sur notre faim, & nous avons tout mangé jusqu'au dernier grain de couscous. Je suis un peu déçue de mon expérience à cause de ça. Faites-nous découvrir la gastronomie africaine avec plus que 3 bouchées! Trop cher payé pour des petites portions.

Delicious food, service & presentation! We tried multiple dishes as well as both desserts, & everything tasted extremely comforting & delicious! The service is really good too, the server took her time to explain everything to us about the dishes & we also had some help pairing a perfect wine with the dishes! Highly recommended!!

The food was absolutely amazing. We had the fried beans, the cod & the steak. It was all flavourful. We ended up ordering a second plate of the steak because that's how amazing it was. & the service was impeccable.
