Le Virunga offers a warm welcome and attentive service, with creative dishes that are full of flavor. The ambiance is intimate and cozy, with soft lighting that keeps the room pleasantly quiet. The menu changes regularly and the staff explain the dishes clearly, helping guests discover new ingredients and spice profiles. While portions can be on the smaller side and the pacing can vary, the overall experience is memorable, with desserts that delight and a thoughtful wine list, especially with a South African focus, making it a great choice for a date or a small celebration. Très bel accueil, ambiance intimiste & chaleureuse, musique excellente, plats délicieux. Le mélange des genres est tout à fait réussi ! Bravo le Virunga !

Five stars is not enough. There are literally NO words to describe the ecstasy brought in by every single bite. So much flavor! I was still sitting in the resto last night while planning my next visit over. Hard for me to imagine anyone not liking this place. It is quaint & intimate. It is beautifully decorated & the cocktails are divine! I had the Mandela & Tonic. I highly recommend!!!
Went for our anniversary. Lovely small space, excellent service. We had the goat salad appetizer, oxtail & duck leg as mains, & for dessert, the beignets with rum sauce. All was DELICIOUS! Only criticism is that the food could have been hotter. Would certainly visit again to try some of their other dishes, including the goat.

Nous avons soupé au Virunga dans le cadre de Montréal a Table. Une jolie découverte où les épices exotiques & la banane plantain ont la part belle. Malgré tout, les saveurs manquent un peu de relief. Je m'attendais à quelque chose d'un peu plus explosif en bouche. J'ai pris une quenelle de crevettes en entrée, du veau en plat principal & un moelleux en dessert. Le service est irréprochable & la carte offre de belles options aux végétariens/vegans, ainsi qu'une sélection de vins intéressante. Merci!

Ambiance très chaleureuse, petit restaurant cosy où on se sent bien, service au top & plats vraiment délicieux qui changent de l'ordinaire.

Quelle superbe experience nous avons eu lors de notre repas dans le cadre de Montreal a table avec mon copain hier. Le restaurant est propre & charmant & La rencontre entre la cusine subsaharienne & quebecoise est divine & cest surtout parce que le chef & sa fille zoya transmettent leur amour a nos assiettes. La preparation des aliments fut impeccable & zoya a pris le temps de partager son savoir sur la cuisine subsaharienne avec nous durant son service. Un MUST a Montreal ! 5/5 a tous les nouveaux! Quelle belle decouverte ! A bientot Virunga & merci

2. Cosy smart casual atmosphere (would be perfect for a date)
3. Exceptional dining
4. Extremely wide range of gluten-friendly options (the only option not GF on the table d'hôte was the plantain chocolate-chip cake)
