Virunga Restaurant is the story of two women passionate about African culture, who invite you to discover the gastronomic richness of this continent, which is so dear to them.

Through revisited traditional recipes, the restaurant celebrates the authentic flavors of sub-Saharan Africa, while showcasing local Quebec products.

Both simple and creative, this cuisine demonstrates, above all, a respect for ingredients and gastronomy.

Cuisine exceptionelle. Le service est un peu lent car il n'y a qu'une personne pour s'en occuper. J'avoue qu'elle est excellente. Mais nous avons attendu un petit peu. Comme c'etait soir de match du Canadien pendant la finale de la coupe Stanley... c'est acceptable... Je dois dire que ma femme & moi etions le seul groupe totalement "blanc". Si la cuisine de ce restaurant attire autant d'Afro-Canadiens, elle doit etre proche d'authentique. Je dois dire que ce fut un vrai regal!!! Nous avons ete tres bien recu. La bouffe est geniale. Un peu epices, mais pas trop. Just ideale pour apprecier les saveurs africaines. J'y retournerai certainnement.

Le Virunga is one of the best restaurants in Montreal, hands down! This underrated gem brings forth light & life to this otherwise quiet little area. Owned by two incredible Black Women who are mother & daughter, this space oozes in spirituality & love in the cuisine & the decor. You feel at home, you feel at peace, you feel taken care of. If you're looking for a life-altering experience, I highly recommend this place for the incomparable food & the impeccable service. I wish them nothing but continued success & expansion. - TiKA

Everything about Le Virunga was excellent, from the food & drinks (must try their cocktails) to the beautiful atmosphere. The waitress was super nice & helpful, impeccable service. Had a lovely evening here!

Mon mari a pris le jarret de boeuf cuit pendant 20 heures nous nous attendions à une viande qui fond dans la bouche & au contraire la viande était dure & présence de beaucoup de gras. Moi j'ai choisi l'épaule de chèvre la viande était dure beaucoup de tirasse & des gros os, donc une portion assez minime pour la viande. Les accompagnements étaient de goût moyen par contre, nous avons beaucoup aimé le dessert.
