Virunga Restaurant is the story of two women passionate about African culture, who invite you to discover the gastronomic richness of this continent, which is so dear to them.
Through revisited traditional recipes, the restaurant celebrates the authentic flavors of sub-Saharan Africa, while showcasing local Quebec products.

Nous étions emballés d'essayer un restaurant africain. Le service était courtois. La musique excellente. Toutefois, le rapport qualité prix était très décevant. Les vins sont vraiment trop chers pour les formats. Les déserts n'étaient pas bons. Nous sommes allés dans le cadre de Montréal à table pour essayer. Nous ne retournons malheureusement pas.

Nous avons été mangée chez Virunga hier soir, l'expérience était hors pair. L'ambiance était très agréable. Le personnel était très chaleureux & courtois. La chef & son équipe nous ont fait pleins de petites attentions qui nous ont fait chaud au coeur, nous avons vraiment été traitées au petits, chez nos tantines au pays. Chaque service était préparé avec attention, l'assaisonnement était ON POINT, la cuisson était ON POINT, tout était absolument délicieux. Un incontournable de la gastronomie & de la fine cuisine africaine à Montréal.

Absolutely delicious & very good service. We were a group of 5 friends who enjoyed their Zahabu, Argentinian shrimp starter. for the main we enjoyed the Walleye fish catch of the day & the guinea fowl. Both desserts that evening are delicious & one is gluten-free, which was great since one of my friends is unable to eat wheat. Their selection of South African wines is also well priced & excellent, we ordered the Pinotage which is South Africa's signature red wine grape. This was our 4th time dining at this wonderful restaurant. Definitely returning before year end. Bravo Chef Maria!!

Très bon restaurant africain. Menu à la carte ce soir-là avec 3 entrées, 4 plats principaux & 2 desserts. Service courtois & attentionné. Ambiance tranquille & très beau décor. Cocktails succulents. Un beau 4 étoiles sur 5, en raison d'une entrée choisie un peu trop réduite en portion.

Great service, nice atmosphere, delicious food, HOWEVER only suitable if your pockets are deep & you have forgotten the value of a dollar. Shrimp appetizer = 2 shrimp for $14. We left hungry.

We had a great meal here. The restaurant is nice, the service was excellent, & the food was different & delicious. We also enjoyed the drinks -- both our adult cocktails & the kids' mocktails (especially the one with passionfruit). Like most things, I wish it were a little bit less expensive.
