Virunga Restaurant is the story of two women passionate about African culture, who invite you to discover the gastronomic richness of this continent, which is so dear to them.
Through revisited traditional recipes, the restaurant celebrates the authentic flavors of sub-Saharan Africa, while showcasing local Quebec products.

Super beau moment lors de notre souper.

J'ai apprécié la décoration, l'ambiance, l'accueil, la musique, la propreté du restaurant (incluant toilettes).
Le service était très chaleureux & les plats servis étaient chauds comme je les aime & savoureux. Je pouvais identifier la saveur de chaque ingrédient du plat en bouche & l'explosion des saveurs en bouche est une expérience unique. Ma réservation était pour une personne seule pour le menu table d'hôte dans le cadre de l'évènement MTL à table. Ma table était bien située & j'ai reçu la même attention & le même temps de service que les autres tables qui avaient plus d'une personne.
La carte des boissons non-alcoolisées est très riche, j'ai commandé un d'jino pour l'association fruit de la passion & citronnelle qui était bon mais, ma petite déception était de n'avoir pas pu goûter la citronnelle car le jus de la passion était la saveur dominante de la boisson.

If you're looking for a traditional African meal, you may be disappointed.
Le Virunga serves beautifully arranged plates of delicious « pan-African » food in a cozy, welcoming environment, but there is no pap or foufou in sight! Portions are small but flavourful with a modern twist.
Our hostess was friendly & the South African wine selection was a treat!
Recommended for a night out with a different flavour!
via LibroNous étions emballés d'essayer un restaurant africain. Le service était courtois. La musique excellente. Toutefois, le rapport qualité prix était très décevant. Les vins sont vraiment trop chers pour les formats. Les déserts n'étaient pas bons. Nous sommes allés dans le cadre de Montréal à table pour essayer. Nous ne retournons malheureusement pas.

La chef & son équipe nous ont fait pleins de petites attentions qui nous ont fait chaud au coeur, nous avons vraiment été traitées au petits, chez nos tantines au pays. Chaque service était préparé avec attention, l'assaisonnement était ON POINT, la cuisson était ON POINT, tout était absolument délicieux. Un incontournable de la gastronomie & de la fine cuisine africaine à Montréal.

We were a group of 5 friends who enjoyed their Zahabu, Argentinian shrimp starter. for the main we enjoyed the Walleye fish catch of the day & the guinea fowl. Both desserts that evening are delicious & one is gluten-free, which was great since one of my friends is unable to eat wheat. Their selection of South African wines is also well priced & excellent, we ordered the Pinotage which is South Africa's signature red wine grape. This was our 4th time dining at this wonderful restaurant. Definitely returning before year end. Bravo Chef Maria!!

via LibroTrès bon restaurant africain. Menu à la carte ce soir-là avec 3 entrées, 4 plats principaux & 2 desserts. Service courtois & attentionné. Ambiance tranquille & très beau décor. Cocktails succulents. Un beau 4 étoiles sur 5, en raison d'une entrée choisie un peu trop réduite en portion.
