Le Toasteur Villeray is a breakfast and brunch restaurant in the heart of Villeray.
While the Toasteur concept has existed for several generations and has had several locations, it is in the Villeray district that it found its second wind.
At the end of 2020, we chose to flip the table, literally and figuratively! From reorganizing the space to redesigning the menu, we decided to renew ourselves. This was possible thanks to a passionate team and especially thanks to the neighborhood clientele who have been showing us their love of brunch for over 10 years.

Je comprend que vous ne prenez pas de réservation. Cependant, nous avons attendu 1h30 pour être assis & un 50 minutes supplémentaire pour recevoir mon repas. J'ai eu le temps de finir mon smoothie avant de recevoir mon assiette.
Le menu est vraiment original & s'adapte aux produits de saisons, c'etait incroyablement bon! Petit resto de quartier très populaire, j'y ai été plusieurs fois & il y a des bons cafés.

We arrived amidst a bustling crowd of eager patrons & were warmly welcomed by the excellent & friendly staff to this intimate spot.
Embracing the flavors of the season, we wasted no time in indulging in the offerings of the fall menu & immediately ordered a pumpkin spice latte (obviously). This is not your typical coffee with a small drizzle of cheap syrup. It is real, housemade pumpkin purée expertly blended into a velvety latte. This might be one of the best PSLs we've ever had.
Our meal choices were equally fantastic.
The Béné Mac n' Cheese with a harmonious fusion of decadent cheeses was as satisfying as it was delicious, especially when you add the secret menu item: smoked meat, to it.
Even the accompaniments proved to be delightful in their own right & not just filler. We savoured every last crumb of both the refreshing salad & breakfast potatoes.
We also ordered an extra side (because we have to try everything)-'Pain aux courgettes' highlighted by a truly exquisite house-crafted pumpkin jam.
We wholeheartedly recommend a visit. There may be a little wait (standard for brunch on a weekend, which is when we went), but we promise it's absolutely worth it.

La nourriture est savoureuse & originale, les employés sont souriants & efficaces, l'endroit est chaleureux & on se sent comme chez soi! En plus les prix sont vraiment abordables.
J'aime particulièrement les oeufs béné, peu importe la saison le goût est présent & différent, j'adore ! Les poutines dejs sont également un régal!
Le service était impeccable! La nourriture était super bonne, j'ai beaucoup aimé le sandwich dej & la salade qui l'accompagnait. La confiture fraise rhubarbe sur ma pancake était incroyable, j'aurais aimé une portion plus généreuse!
Most revelatory for a brunch place: great options for vegetarians! For once not feeling like a second thought. The vegetarian classic breakfast comes with eggs, veg. sausage, tofu, salad, toast, & French toast with REAL maple syrup (no extra charge)!
Great delicious food at a good cost, the simple salade is actually really good. Potatoes are on point & I love their grilled ham. Nothing to say about the food or service. I just wish it was a bit bigger inside & to be seated less close to others. That's all
Excellent brunch avec une carte variée dont des options végétariennes! Venez tôt pour avoir une place rapidement.
Les boissons sont toujours très bonnes & le déjeuner en terrasse très agréable.
Tout petit bémol pour l'attente pour recevoir les plats, le toasteur est victime de son succès :)
C'est toujours très bon & avec un bon services. Par contre ces très petit donc si vous y aller aux heures plus achalandé vous risquez de devoir attendre.
Mais sinon ça rien à dire... ils offrent aussi plusieurs option de déjeuner Vegane.

Went there for a Sunday brunch after seeing all the great reviews this place has, but we were unfortunately very disappointed. It took so so long for the food to come out, the longest I have ever waited. We didn't think that an order of french toast & an omelette can take over an hour to be served. The french toast was a big flop, it was so dry & looked like it was barely soaked in eggs, didn't taste like a french toast at all but rather just the jam they put on top! In addition the bottom of the toast was completely burned it was black. The omelette was good but nothing you can't whip at home. Definitely not worth waiting all that time for.
