griot(23) haitian(11) viande(9) boeuf(9) tendre(8) fresh(7) pikliz(7) rice(6) sauce(6)One of the few Haitian/Caribbean spots downtown. Spot might be easy to miss but I consider to be a hidden gem. I got the Griot. Everything was made to order. The pork was crispy & juicy. The pasta salad was delicious & creamy. The plantains were fresh & well fried. My only gripe is that if you order the large they will just give you more rice.View more
View more
This was pretty basic stuff. Not very attractive or tasty food. Unfortunately no English menu or server. Use Google translate in order to communicate our orders & that proved to be of limited success. We kind of got whatever, she pointed at Maybe our fault for not knowing French? I don't feel so. Had "digestive issues" for the entire following day. I'll try a different place next time I want this kind of stuff, but I probably won't ever want Haitian food again.View more

Désolée toutouView more
This is my go to Haitian restaurant near me. Super reliable & the presentation is also the nicest I've seen from a Haitian restaurant. Love the Tassot beef.View more

Wasn't sure if I wanted to go, because of the restaurant's name (iykyk), but being downtown, lazy & craving H good, I went anyway. Warm & fast service. Generous servings at an okay price. Probably the BEST griot I have ever had (& I've tried dozens of restaurants in North America). Marinated perfectly, the meat was oh-so tender & tasty, with lots of fatty bits (my favorite, that's how you know if the meat is fresh). Everything was made'maison' clearly. HOWEVER I thought the macaroni salad had no taste whatsoever, the sauce was a bit bland, the pikliz only tasted of vinegar & was not'piké' at all... & the rice... they used broken rice! Made the texture feel really off after my 30+ years of having long grains only! 5 star griot & service Will have to try their other offers before I form my full opinionView more
Food is really good. But I got my order to go & walked back in 2 min later because I noticed the patties I ordered wasn't there. So I let them know they forgot them. They said no it's in the container. It intact was not which is really upsetting.View more
