The baingan had whole cloves & cardamom, which overpowered the dish when I bit into them, & it ruined the meal for me, whole spices should be removed before serving. The garlic naan tasty, but the poppadoms were chewy instead of crisp. Delivery arrived nicely packed via Uber Eats.
Top notch quality food & a wonderful menu with great selection.The personnel were very kind to my friends & me & very patient.

Excellente cuisine indienne. Service très rapide & courtois. Beau restaurant moderne à allure classique avec une belle touche de décor indienne authentique. Vraiment aimé.

This place does not feel like authentic Indian cuisine, Keema Naan was nice but malai chicken came with no malai sauce. Good if you want to try out Indian food & are nervous about the spice level.

An incredible dining experience from the moment we entered this gorgeous restaurant. The food was incredible(including the accidental Chana Chat we recv'd!) as was the customer service. Staff & management were very attentive & made sure we were enjoying our meal.
We will DEFINITELY be back again when we are in Montreal!

Honestly the only thing we liked from this is that the atmosphere & service was good but the food was bad like they really need to work on it & other than that everything else was OK, nothing impressive.
Buffet options were limited, but were all extremely good. Staff was welcoming & friendly. Good drinks as well.
Strongly recommended for Indian people who like indian food. Delicious food ever. Visit once here for sure. Reasonable prices.
Bon restaurant indien idéalement situé. Les prix sont plutôt élevés mais le poulet tikka est de loin le meilleur en ville. Le service peut être plutôt expéditif quoique toujours agréable. Une des rares bonnes options indiennes au centre-ville.
First of all this was my first travel to Montreal. I have planned this trip in three previous occasions & life (Covid, hurricanes,,etc) caused me to cancel. Each time I made a reservation to eat at Le Taj. I was so excited that after 4 years & 3 canceled trips, I had finally arrived. The seating was a perfect romantic nook by the window. The lighting was dim to set the mood for a intimate birthday dinner. Our server had been working at the location for 38 years. The owner was engaged with the customers. I wanted to take a picture with him but he left shortly after we arrived. The food was excellent. Flavorful, rich, authentic! I recommend this place to anyone living or traveling to the city.
Best & oldest Indian restaurant in Montreal, about 40 years old. The service is impeccable by the amazing & sweet staff. Even the owner goes from table to table to make sure the guests are having fun. The food arrival is always quick either is busy or not. Every single dishes from appetizers to dessert are beyond delicious. Always well flavored, & nicely & tenderly cooked. The restaurant is simply beautiful with the vintage Indian decors. The vibe is happy & satisfying with the service & food. 100% recommended.
