Good quality & balance for downtown Indian food .
It was delicious
Le Taj Indian Restaurant on Stanley Street in Montreal is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you're treated like family by the amazing staff to an authentic & unforgettable culinary experience. Kabir & his family truly pour their heart into serving the best Indian dishes in the city, using only the freshest ingredients. Each dish bursts with incredible flavor & you can taste the quality in every bite. It's more than just a meal; it's a delightful journey for your taste buds. Highly recommend! & never any bloating afterwards like other places! Our go to for many years now! ❤?
Top notch quality food & a wonderful menu with great selection. The personnel were very kind to my friends & me & very patient.
Been coming here for twenty years & was pleased that the quality has remained the same when we recently came back. Service great, delicious food. A bit cheap of you guys not to serve papadams anymore at 25 price per little plate. Bring it back 🙏 It costs nothing except a bit if a hassle for the servers & kitchen.
Classic. Always a 10/10 in terms of food quality & good service. It's been our family favourite since the 90s!
Ordered: Mushroom do payza, Chicken korma, Tandoori roti, Mango Kulfi, Gulab Jamun
Verdict: seems like uses quality ingredients, fine dining setting, okay taste, small portions, not value for money, servers were rude, hurried us to order (kitchen was closing soon so may be because of that)
Mango Kulfi & Gulab Jamun : quality ingredients & delicious
Tandoori roti: served hot & crispy; ask for buttered roti (it tastes better)
Chicken Korma: Okay. Didn't feel authentic kroma tatse . If you are having korma for the first time you might not notice any difference.
Mushroom do pyaza: they serve it dry here. That is not how it's supposed to be served. Tasted okay to me.
I recently ordered takeout from Le Taj, & it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Even at home, the quality & flavors were top-notch.
The food was packed carefully & arrived hot, fresh, & full of aroma. I ordered the butter chicken, basmati rice, & garlic naan, everything was absolutely delicious. 🤤 The butter chicken was creamy with just the right hint of spice, & the naan was soft & still warm, perfect for dipping.
The portion sizes were generous, & you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The flavors are authentic & comforting, just like what you'd expect from a high-end dine-in experience.
Le Taj really knows how to deliver restaurant-quality Indian cuisine straight to your home. It's now one of my go-to spots for takeout.
Final Verdict:
Authentic Indian flavors, generous portions, & excellent takeout service. Highly recommended!
We came as a group of six & had such a great experience at Le Taj. The food was absolutely delicious - full of flavor & beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm & welcoming, perfect for enjoying a nice evening together. The service was excellent from start to finish, & the hostess was especially kind & attentive. We all left happy & satisfied. Highly recommend if you're looking for quality Indian cuisine in Montreal!
From US, visiting, stumbled upon this elegant restaurant on Monday night. Indian food was good quality & you can see the guy making naan in the back. Service was fantastic & friendly. Slightly pricey but as expected for a bougie Indian place & still cheaper than DC
Very less quantity & over priced for the food. $25 for a small bowl of curry & $6 for a naan is outrageous. The curry was too oily & nothing special about any of the food. The quality of rice was also bad for that price.
Nice interior & decor with average Indian food. We were in Montreal for two nights & tried two different Indian places for dinner. Interior is upscale & nicely done, but I'd say that is only thing that deserves 5 stars, things go down from there. we were able to compare this with the dinner at Darbar from the other night & we came back underwhelmed at the best from the quality of food & service. If you want to impress your girlfriend of special one with nice ambiance yeah this is decent place, but if you want to wow them with service & food, I'd stay away from there. Not worth it.
As a regular customer of your restaurant, I have always been delighted by the exceptional quality of the food & service. However, during my most recent visit, I noticed a significant decline in the service, which greatly impacted my overall experience. The food was still excellent, which confirms that your chef maintains high standards. It might be beneficial to review the processes or staff training to ensure that every customer receives the same level of service as in the past. I remain a loyal customer & am confident that these adjustments will restore the excellence I have always associated with your establishment. Thank you for your attention to this feedback, & I look forward to returning soon for an experience as satisfying as usual.
I have been to le taj on different occasions over many years but recently during my visits i noticed the quality of food is not the same anymore. The food quality has degraded alot specially avoid going to valentines days occasion as the menu is limited & the prices what they charge for fixed menu is ridiculous. They serve chicken soup made of yellow daal which was really bad & we do not expect such quality of food from there.
The quality of the food does not justify its price, & the portion sizes were insufficient. Despite the pleasant ambiance & good service, the taste of the Indian dishes fell short compared to more affordable options elsewhere.
The service is great, & the food is good. Although you won't expect the hottest to be as reflective, it was still excellent quality. The mint naan was also an eye opener that I haven't tried before. Their assorted fried vegetable platter was also not too greasy as some samosas go.
This is my first time coming back since 20 years & the quality remains with time.
Quality & tasty Indian food. Good atmosphere, quick service

Le Taj is the one restaurant that my wife & I dine in with each visit to Montreal, & for good reason. The waitstaff is always courteous, knowledgeable, & attentive. The quality of their varied servings is consistently excellent. &, the comfortable, softly toned environment is conducive to a very enjoyable dining experience.
