The Shack has been a favorite place of ours to eat delicious fresh fish for many years. Unfortunately, today the food was not at the high level of quality we have been accustomed to. The calamari were definitely below the quality & taste expected, they were thickly covered in a lot of batter, were dark & rubbery. The French fries were soft, we had to return & ask for another order. It feels like the oil may need to be changed for both. The cod in the fish & chips was watery & bland. Not at all our memory of the quality we've had in the past. We chose to go in the afternoon after rush hour to celebrate a birthday so there is no excuse that the kitchen was too busy. The price would be good, if the quality of the food was up to par to what we have known. The ingredients may be of good quality but the love we felt in the food is missing. The service from Sandy, our waitress, was excellent.View more
