One would think that fish & chips would be a dish that a shack du pecheur would be good at. My experience was fries that were overcooked, cold & soggy & fish that was flaky & disintegrating - maybe Chinese blue cod; certainly not Newfoundland cod. For $40 including tax & tip for the plate.
C'était très bien. Personnel attentif & accueuillant. Le fish&chip était excellent ainsi que le mac'n cheese délicieux & copieux. Merci nous avons passé un bon moment. Je recommande.

Pour les amateurs de pieuvre, elle est extra autant en entrée qu'en plat principal. Guédilles de homards extras. Il semble que les Fish & Chips soient sublimes (originaux & steak Spice MTL)... avis de mes comparée. Tataki de thon & steak de thon tout simplement sublimes! Bons cocktail & carte de vin tout de même très bien! Raisonnable au verre ou à la bouteille.
Hier, 10/04/2026, j'ai passé une commande de fish & chips pour emporter que j'ai trouvé vraiment bon, & les portions étaient généreuses. La serveuse à la porte était très gentille, dommage que je ne lui ai pas demandé son prénom car la courtoisie & la gentillesse de nos jours sont des qualités qu'il faut souligner.
Encore tranquille au moment où j'y suis allée.
Jeudi soir, soirée mexicaine, soirée taco. J'ai fait remplacer les frites par du riz.
J'ai accompagné le tout avec une margarita (moitié prix ce soir).
Le fish & chips ça sera pour une autre fois!
On se lasse pas de ce restaurant. Vous aimez les fishs & chips, les fruits de mer, gâtez vous en y allant. Pensez à réserver, ce n'est pas très grand. Sinon, une commande à emporter fera l'affaire. Attention, l'odeur des plats vs conduire jusqu'à votre domicile sera une vraie lutte contre la gourmandise.

Nous avons célébré ce soir le 67e anniversaire de mon père en famille dans ce restaurant, & l'expérience a été tout simplement exceptionnelle.
Notre serveuse, Léane, a été remarquable du début à la fin. Elle a su s'adapter à toutes les générations autour de la table avec beaucoup d'humour, une belle attention & un service vraiment chaleureux. On sentait qu'elle prenait plaisir à s'occuper de nous, & cela a rendu la soirée encore plus spéciale.
Côté nourriture : absolument délicieux. Nous avons partagé plusieurs entrées - tartare de saumon, chaudrée de palourdes, escargots & pétoncles - toutes savoureuses & parfaitement exécutées. Les fish & chips étaient également excellents.
Bref, une soirée parfaite pour souligner un anniversaire important. Un énorme merci à Léane pour le service impeccable & à toute l'équipe en cuisine. Nous recommandons cet endroit sans hésitation & nous reviendrons assurément
La place a été un coup de coeur pour moi. Le service était très amical puis l'ambiance nous fait sentir comme une soirée d'été à la plage... même l'hiver! On a mangé des huitres & un Fish n' chips. Tous excellents!
Sooooo good. We got the onion rings to start & fisherman's boil as our meal. The portion was big. Lots of seafood, 3 crab legs, shrimp, cod, mussels & clams a few slices of potato & sausage. Definitely worth the price with all that seafood. So freaking good. Service was excellent!!
Un petit souper agréable en famille un dimanche soir. Cela faisait un temps que nous n'avions pas visite le shack. Toujours aussi bon. J'ai bien apprécié la chaudrée de palourdes & mon fish'n chip panko était excellent. Une mise en garde pour ceux qui n'ont plus de vésicule biliaire, la digestion de ce monstre est un gros contrat. :D Recommandé!
Excellent petit resto sur le thème de la pêche. Cela fait 2 fois depuis octobre que l'on va à ce resto qui nous avait été fortement conseillé. Le fish & chips est plus que sur prenant. Ce n'est pas 3 petits mots de poisson dans une pâte épaisse, mais bien un grand filet de poisson soit au panko ou à une pâte mince. C'est un resto dont le menu est axé sur les produits de la pêche.

Ici c'est un gros morceau de poisson, frais & fondant dans la bouche. Ma panure préférée? La jamaïcaine un peu piquant & croquante!!
Sadly its not lime it used to be too oily too thick the fish its self was good but not the breading the cole slaw was just cabbage no sauce or taste weird!! Fries were super greasy Our waiter was the best part
This used to be my 2nd favorite place for fish & chips, I will not be going back after the last two visits. Not enough batter on the fish & no taste. Serving one big piece does not work. I would prefer two smaller pieces with more taste. I didn't even finish eating the fish as it was not good. It's too bad as this place used to be good.
A growing institution on the South Shore. This place has been around for a while! Not too many spots like this on the South Shore & this place has the merit to serve pretty fresh fish. Nothing like fresh fish. Flaky, meaty, tasty.
Makes for great place for fish & chips. The size is also very respectable but we wished there was more coconut shavings.

I will say that when we went, the frying was not up to par...too much oil in the batter (fryer not hot enough or batter not cold enough?)
Unfortunately, the octopus is forgettable. Flavor is not special (although the menu description looks promising) & the cooking is not good. The octopus is too soft/cooked/grilled/boiled...not sure what it is but not nice. The portion is also a bit small. Good thing octopus has another 7 legs. The dish has potential!
We enjoyed two whole Lobsters with shrimp cocktail starters & some oysters. There's a full bar & good wine list. The food was really good & our server Valerie was excellent taking time to chat with us after the meal. The La Prairie location is decorated like a small cosy seaside fisherman's cabin with all the adornments.
We will definitely recommend to friends & go back again.
