Le Petit Dep comes across as a cozy, eclectic cafe and shop with a homey vibe that many find welcoming, offering a wide selection of high quality coffee, pastries and vegan options, plus charming local gifts. Reviewers praise friendly staff, fast service, and tasty croissants and cappuccinos, while some note the space is small or cluttered and that laptops are discouraged or not allowed, which can be a plus for some but frustrating for those hoping to work. Decor ranges from homely and quirky to busy, with some mentioning a charming kitsch atmosphere and others calling it overstuffed, but the overall vibe remains a highlight. Prices are sometimes described as a little steep for some items, yet many return weekend after weekend for beverages and treats, including chocolate and specialty drinks like matcha and chai. In sum, Le Petit Dep is a go to for a cozy casual visit with good coffee and pastry options, especially for locals and shoppers seeking a bright, unique vibe, while acknowledging a few drawbacks around space, interior design and the no laptops policy.
I like their coffee & the vibes however I decided to get a matcha this time & it was the most mediocre matcha I've ever had. Paid $8 for a drink I had to throw in the sink 😣
Very cozy restaurant in the port of Montreal. Food price was reasonable & coffee was presented very nicely. Unfortunately the tables were not being cleaned after guests left which was slightly disappointing.

Estoy realmente decepcionada. Lo consideraba como uno de mis cafes favoritos, ideal por su ambiente tranquilo ideal para trabajar, ahora resulta que esta prohibido el uso de computadoras o tablets para estudiar sin previo aviso o algun comentario en su sitio. Quiero trabajar y consumir y no puedo. Agrego que las instalaciones estaban sucias y plato
s por todas partes. Realmente decepcionante.
A pretty little cafe in the old port of Montreal which is neither overpriced nor overcrowded. Everything is served fresh & is absolutely delicious. The ambience of the place is just perfect for a relaxing evening chat or an early morning breakfast. I would definitely visit again.
One of the prettiest cafes that I have ever been to. The coffee is also very good & so are the vegan treats. Don't miss it if you are in the vicinity of the Notre-Dame Basilica.
I removed a star because the Chai we ordered was disgusting, it tasted like toilet water, we just spit it out & dumped it, too bad, however the 4 chocolate bars I bought that cost me 80$, yes, it's 20$ per chocolate bar, they are worth the price, I've tasted many chocolates from all over the world, I have to say these are incredible, it is a treat, I would never pay 20$ but it's for my husband birthday, he's a chocolate freak & of course I tasted them as well & OMG, delicious, they don't allow laptops, so you can't sit there plugged in all day, very nice atmosphere in the heart of the old port, craft beer & other artisinal products including soaps & toys, very cute shop.
Dec2024 A new wave of cafes that have both sides on the past & the future. These cafes are communal spaces that are trying out more specialty coffee concoctions & modern menu trends & incorporating more functions to customer experience like adding retail & small grocery sections while still having some old world charm & cozy homey vibes. This chain has a number of outlets which suit well the Old Town motiff. The food is wide & offers all types from takeaways to cafe dine ins ie short meals. Coffee is standard & suits well the season. Service staff are young, casual & cheerful. Layout is cozy, tight, & communal much like a town pub or a small bistro.
Cold lifeless coffee. Staff don't really seem too interested in service. I mean, whatever right? They were happy enough to microwave my coffee so problem solved I guess? 2 stars for the ambiance though as it is a cute cafe.
I grabbed a sweet scone there & loved the atmosphere. I like how it's a shop & café in one, but in a good way. The scone was very good & the person at the cashier seemed nice. Definitely worth a visit!
Very cute cafe with a wide range of local artist products. It's pricey. My issue is no bathrooms for paying customers?! Even for a pregnant person? ouch...
Un endroit parfait pour prendre une excellente tasse de café ou deux avec une petite pâtisserie. Le service est excellent & rapide. Les tables rapprochées créent une ambiance de petit café européen. J'adore!
