Review Summary

Le Petit Dep is widely regarded as a charming and eclectic hidden gem in Old Montreal, celebrated for its cozy vintage atmosphere and thoughtful selection of local Quebec products. While many visitors praise the exceptional coffee, latte art, and varied pastry offerings, including several gluten-free and vegan options, experiences remain mixed regarding food quality and pricing transparency. The shop serves as a popular destination for both locals and tourists, though some guests find the space cramped, the interior decor occasionally overwhelming, and the absence of clear price tags on retail items frustrating. Service is generally described as friendly and efficient, although the strict policy against laptops and tablets is a polarizing feature that some patrons appreciate for the quiet environment while others find inconvenient. Despite inconsistent reports regarding the temperature of hot beverages and the freshness of certain snacks, the overall consensus highlights the establishment as a photogenic and pleasant spot for a quick coffee break or a unique souvenir purchase.

Not too expensive, amazing taste! The place feels nostalgic, cozy & really home-like. I've eaten here a few times in my trips to Montréal & it's a place I always look forward to going! I really recommend their Raspberry purée iced matcha, it's amazing

I was really excited to try this place & planned to sit & do a bit of work on my laptop. Unfortunately, the'no laptops' signs are very small & easy to miss, & I didn't notice them until right after I paid. What felt frustrating was seeing the person behind the counter on his laptop the entire time, which came across as a bit hypocritical. I know there's another location where laptops are allowed, but that wasn't near my hotel. Very average matcha latte. Sadly wont be back

Went with a friend, we had a matcha & espresso & both were very disappointing. The matcha was lumpy & tasted bitter, & the espresso was $4 but minuscule, & my friend said it had a bad aftertaste. The space is beautiful & service was ok, although it took unnecessarily long for us to get our drinks, but not worth going if you're paying a decent amount of money for straight up bad drinks :(

ordered an iced tea & oat milk matcha & gave my name, they then called for a lemonade & matcha, i ask the barista if it's a regular or plant based milk matcha & an iced tea, she tells me it's a regular one & a lemonade, so i just assumed it was someone else's order since there was quite a lot of people, i go back to stand for about ten or more minutes before she tells me it was actually my order… i guess it is good to know for next time that iced teas are called lemonades & to ask in lots of details to make sure it is your order lol. then again there was a lot of people so i don't really blame them but i guess i would've appreciated at least trying to call my name ?😅 food was great though!!! 🫶

I tried the iced raspberry matcha latte & I loved it so much. I always have trouble finding matcha that isn't sweet even with flavour added & this was perfectly balanced. It was busy, but I was impressed by the speed of the service. Lovely staff, would love to have bigger sizes available for the drinks though.
