Review Summary

Le Petit Dep is widely regarded as a charming and eclectic hidden gem in Old Montreal, celebrated for its cozy vintage atmosphere and thoughtful selection of local Quebec products. While many visitors praise the exceptional coffee, latte art, and varied pastry offerings, including several gluten-free and vegan options, experiences remain mixed regarding food quality and pricing transparency. The shop serves as a popular destination for both locals and tourists, though some guests find the space cramped, the interior decor occasionally overwhelming, and the absence of clear price tags on retail items frustrating. Service is generally described as friendly and efficient, although the strict policy against laptops and tablets is a polarizing feature that some patrons appreciate for the quiet environment while others find inconvenient. Despite inconsistent reports regarding the temperature of hot beverages and the freshness of certain snacks, the overall consensus highlights the establishment as a photogenic and pleasant spot for a quick coffee break or a unique souvenir purchase.

Visiting Montreal, this gem quickly became a must stop every time I was near! Such a beautiful atmosphere, great service, delicious drinks!

I adored the jumbled aesthetic & incredible selection of local food stuffs-chocolates, ciders, etc, but almost nothing was priced! (Clear prices listed for fresh food & drinks though)

Also, the cheddar scone I chose was almost unbearably dry. Very disappointing. The cold brew was solid.

Ordered a few of carbonated drinks, they were honestly not to my liking. Had a weird taste, as a person who loves carbonated drinks. The atmosphere was so beautiful! Photo props were immaculate, took lots of cute ones. People were nice & scanned us nice & fast even with the longer line. I'd recommend hitting this place up for sure!

It is very pretty inside with cute merch. The food & drinks are ok. I would not return as it is extremely busy with tourists, just for unimpressive food.

I wasn't able to try any food or drinks, unfortunately. After waiting about 10 minutes to get a seat & another 10 minutes to decide & stand in line, I selected three different items from the menu, only to be told that none of them were available. It would really help if the menu reflected what's actually in stock, or if staff informed customers earlier.

This coffee shop is really good - great quality coffee & super friendly staff. Drinks come out fast too.

Only thing is there's almost no space inside, so it's more of a grab-&-go spot than a place to sit & relax. Still worth it for the coffee. ☕

Fantastic & very wide assortment of tasty vegan options, both drinks & pastries, which is also great if you're dairy-free.

Went with a friend, we had a matcha & espresso & both were very disappointing. The matcha was lumpy & tasted bitter, & the espresso was $4 but minuscule, & my friend said it had a bad aftertaste. The space is beautiful & service was ok, although it took unnecessarily long for us to get our drinks, but not worth going if you're paying a decent amount of money for straight up bad drinks :(
