Le Petit Dep comes across as a cozy, eclectic cafe and shop with a homey vibe that many find welcoming, offering a wide selection of high quality coffee, pastries and vegan options, plus charming local gifts. Reviewers praise friendly staff, fast service, and tasty croissants and cappuccinos, while some note the space is small or cluttered and that laptops are discouraged or not allowed, which can be a plus for some but frustrating for those hoping to work. Decor ranges from homely and quirky to busy, with some mentioning a charming kitsch atmosphere and others calling it overstuffed, but the overall vibe remains a highlight. Prices are sometimes described as a little steep for some items, yet many return weekend after weekend for beverages and treats, including chocolate and specialty drinks like matcha and chai. In sum, Le Petit Dep is a go to for a cozy casual visit with good coffee and pastry options, especially for locals and shoppers seeking a bright, unique vibe, while acknowledging a few drawbacks around space, interior design and the no laptops policy.
L'ambiance est chill ! C'est zéro ordi ! Que relaxer, lire, dessiner, regarder les délicieux produits de ce café/relax/boutique. Il y a de beaux espaces pour s'asseoir & un service courtois & créatif.
This is on of those hidden gems that shines like a polished quartz than a diamond. This cafe is located near the Basilica & is more interesting to me,as there are fewer tourists here. Prices are decent. Come in & rest your weary soul. The decor is worth it.
ordered an iced tea & oat milk matcha & gave my name, they then called for a lemonade & matcha, i ask the barista if it's a regular or plant based milk matcha & an iced tea, she tells me it's a regular one & a lemonade, so i just assumed it was someone else's order since there was quite a lot of people, i go back to stand for about ten or more minutes before she tells me it was actually my order… i guess it is good to know for next time that iced teas are called lemonades & to ask in lots of details to make sure it is your order lol. then again there was a lot of people so i don't really blame them but i guess i would've appreciated at least trying to call my name ?😅 food was great though!!! 🫶
I tried the iced raspberry matcha latte & I loved it so much. I always have trouble finding matcha that isn't sweet even with flavour added & this was perfectly balanced. It was busy, but I was impressed by the speed of the service. Lovely staff, would love to have bigger sizes available for the drinks though.

This cafe is super cute & has a really cool kitschy design. It has a bunch of antique furniture & just a cool eclectic vibe overall. It's also half old timey general Store. So they sell a lot of cute food stuffs & souvenirs.
We ordered an iced coffee & the giant Oreo. Unfortunately, the giant Oreo although extremely intriguing was a bust. The cookie was so thick & so dry. It did taste like it was made with black cocoa so it did have that Oreo flavor but we literally had to take off the top cookie to even render it edible at all. The cream was good & it helped. But I'm so shocked that they had that for sale because I would be hard pressed to believe that anybody liked the sandwich as it was sold.
The ice mocha was good but we got it in a paper cup & the paper cup was starting to disintegrate.

Experience the perfect blend of cozy ambiance & tantalizing flavors at our cafe, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee meets the delightful sweetness of mouthwatering cakes!
I've been here on almost every visit to Montreal (which are frequent), & have loved it every time! The food & drinks are delicious. While I am not a huge coffee drinker myself, both my husband & friend have really enjoyed the drinks here. Personally, I love the scones, & the atmosphere! There are so many fun Montreal-focused gifts to get here.

Delicious coffee & smoothies. The atmosphere is eclectic & unique. They have a good assortment of items to purchase. Stop here many times during my time in Montreal.
Quicky, charming cafe. We shared a couple of sandwiches & coffees. Sandwiches were fresh & tasty especially the roast beef & coffee was ok. A little expensive but reflective of the location.
Ambiente molto confortevole e carino vicino alla cattedrale dove ho preso un cappuccino. Solitamente affollato ma sono stati molto veloci nel servizio.
Such a cute spot for a drink & a bite to eat. We got a matcha latte (so so good, get one for sure), tea, & a chocolate chip cookie (delicious!). It's a great find, I wish I would have found it sooner on our trip!
