Review Summary

Le Petit Coin Dumpling is widely praised as a small, cozy, family-friendly spot offering fresh, handmade dumplings in a menu that many reviewers describe as varied and reliable. Diners highlight standout items such as General Tao chicken, beef dumplings, pork and coriander dumplings, peanut dumplings, shrimp wontons, and crispy spring rolls, with several noting that the dumplings arrive hot, flavorful, and generously portioned. The service is repeatedly described as friendly, fast, and attentive, with some compliments about the owner and a warm in-store atmosphere, while takeout and online ordering are also praised for consistency. A few criticisms appear: one version of Xiao long bao was unexpectedly sweet unless cilantro is added, and General Tao sauce is sometimes considered overly sweet or a bit clumsy when dining in or taking out. Some observers mention the space being small and lively, which can be noisy when crowded, but this does not dampen the overall positive impression of quality, value, and the variety of dumpling options that attract regulars and first-time visitors alike.

Spring rolls & the chicken balls were SO GOOD. General Tso's chicken & dumplings were unbelievable.

No nonsense really solid dumpling place. Quality for price is really good for the neighbourhood. Fresh ingredients, & very filling portions. The sweet & spicy soup is very hearty for what you'd expect.

Fin. 🎉

Welcome to the only dumpling place in Montreal that charges for the chili sauce! 1.50 for the chili sauce - yes, the same chili sauce which is literally on the table, next to the soya sauce & vinegar, in every other dumpling place in the city. I've been to this place several times & really love the dumplings, but you know what, screw that, I'm not empowering CHEAP restaurant owners & will take my business elsewhere. When I enquired as to why they were charging for this simple condiment, I was told by the young & annoyed waitress that this had been the case for over a year, & she rolled her eyes at me when I said I've eaten here with my family many times in the last year & the chili sauce was always right there on the table.. It's expensive enough to eat out nowadays. What next, charge me for the wedge of lemon in the water? Seriously. People have no shame. Every minute you are dining in this establishment, you hear the ding of the Ubereats orders. They are NOT a dying restaurant. This place is serving people non-stop. It's just a CHEAP practice & there are plenty other dumpling places in town that don't take advantage of good concept by coming up with new things to charge for. 15 ml of sauce for 1.50. I can't even believe it.

Delicious! Mais la serveuse est plutôt agressive. On a regretté de laisser du pourboire.

Absolutely delicious dumplings. Our meal in order of my preference was lamb with cumin, beef & onion (visible pieces of onion, yum!) & chicken curry. We got the last one fried. Outstanding flavour. Staff were kind & attentive. Very respectful of my coriander allergy. Restaurant is small. We ate early (5:15pm on a Sunday) & we were okay to find a table. Sauces available at the table were soya, vinegar & a red hot sauce. No chili oil, & I didn't ask, & honestly, I didn't miss it. The dumplings were really good just plain or dipped in the soya sauce. 4 people eating. My table also ordered shrimp & pork & the sweet pork. My husband said the shrimp with pork were okay, just not exciting. He did enjoy the sweet pork. Step son also had added the peanut sauce on the side. Bill without tip was 102$ for 4 people. Highly recommended for delicious dumplings & for ordering a bunch of different kinds to share.
