On commande deux cocktails : ils ne les font plus. On en choisi un autre. On commande les gaufres dans les spécialités, ils n'en ont plus. On commande autre chose. Il se met à pleuvoir, donc on entre à l'intérieur. On sent que le fait de salir une deuxième table dérange. On termine notre cocktail en se faisant demander'on prend autre chose ou…?' Donc on prend la facture. On paie en argent comptant, mais ils n'ont supposément plus de change pour me redonner la monnaie.
La nourriture était bonne, mais chère pour ce qu'elle est. Nous avons aussi eu l'impression d'avoir 5 serveurs dans le même repas.

The service was great but the food was just not. The dishes had way too much going on. It was edible but not enjoyable. Seems popular for the young bachelorette crowd.

I was excited to see Passé Composé reopened & went there two days after my awful experience at India Rosa next door (see review). We were told they're owned by the same group. The same overwhelmed & seemingly unfazed wait staff made this experience an affair not to remember. 1) food was very late. 2) asked for water & mayo, both came toward the end of our meal. 3) food quality was terrible. I had the impression that leftovers from India Rosa were repurposed (conjecture), & at a minimum the ingredients were not fresh. 4). When the bill came, the late < 10gr mayo side was $5, more than a couple of sides we had ordered. On this one, I will continue lamenting the end of the original spot, & will never attempt going back.

Delicious dishes with pretty presentation. However, the dining area could use better maintenance. The tabletops were not very clean, & the corners of every table were damaged, leaving sharp edges that could be a safety hazard, especially for children.

Revisits in 2026:
I don't know what happens exactly, but this is not the same Passé compose as it used to be years ago. Foods are different; location is different; not the same vibe as all.

Original review year back:

Great experience! Creative presentation of food. Good quality food & very nice service. The smoothie is on another level. Ramen is also amazingly good (using pasta noodle instead of regular ramen noodle.)
The French toast is more like a deep fried bun in Chinese hotpot restaurants. Not recommended for Chinese like me.
