Omg best Ethiopian food I've ever had. That eggplant appetizer was amamazung & the vegetarian sampler was soooo good. Good beer selection & amazingly helpful & fast wait service. Great part of town too! Easy parking.
The ambience was perfect & the food was super delicious! This was my first time watching Ethiopian cuisine & I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great Ethiopian Food in a nicely decorated restaurant. Ask for additional spice if that's your thing.
This was our first experience with Ethiopian food & we really enjoyed it. The ambiance / decor was nice & we were able to take the Sampler platter which allowed us to try a variety of different dishes at a very reasonable price.
Great Ethiopian finger licking good food & excellent service with an appealing embiance . Don't miss out on this unique approach of eating food , each bite with your fingers. Oh, what an experience!!!
We really enjoyed the delicious authentic food. Restaurant vibe was friendly & relaxed. Would definitely recommend to someone wanting to give Ethiopian food a try.
It was my very first time to try Ethiopian cuisine & it was super delicious!
We loved our dimner. We have eaten in many Ethiopian restaurants in many parts of the world & this one ranked in the top two. The vegetarian platter was wonderful, as were our Margueritas.
It's one of the best Ethiopian food I have had...place is decent & the ambiance is nice..
warm welcome by hostess&waiters, lovely presented dishes on ethiopian bread.loved the experience in general
Delicious as always & my 6 guests were very pleased as well. Some never had Ethiopian before & promised to come back. Great service by Camille as well despite a very busy evening.
this place is absolutely wonderful. From the live music played in the corner on a white grand piano to the ambiance, the server, the moist hand towel smelling of soft spices to the great tasting Ethiopian food & not to mention the Ethiopian coffee...I cant not seem to say enough..I will definitely go back there & will recommend it to any one who wants to listen to me. An absolutely must go to place in Montreal.
Follow your nose! Even the napkins are scented with warm spice.
Service was prompt, efficient & bilingual. The atmosphere is cosy & appropriate for a broad range of groups: couples, families & groups of friends.
Food wasn't just Ethiopian, it seemed that there were other African counties represented. We had a nice South African Pinot Noir with the sampling platter for two. The vegan appetizer star was the chick pea lemon - hummus-like spread. & my favourite meat main was the chicken. My husband also liked the lamb & beef.
Communal style plate for the tasting menus for two with little teff crepes to capture the food up & eat it.
Amazing Birthday Dinner/experience. Our first Ethiopian meal & it did not disappointed. Check it out- you too will be amazed?
We took the tasting menu consisting of the following appetizers:
1-Kitfo : Filet mignon tartare with Ethiopian spices (Good)
2-Bouticha : Chick peas pureed with garlic & lemon + below it : Eggplant marinated & pureed (Good)
3-Yetimatim : Tomato salad with green chillies & Ginger (Average)
4-Veggies caramelized with Ethiopian spices (Good)
Then the main dish :
1-Bedergan : Zucchini in our special alicha sauce (Average)
2-Zilzil Tibbs : Filet mignon strips sauteed with ginger (Great)
3-Yatakelt watt : cabbage, potatoes & carrots sautéed (Average)
4-Yebeg Key Watt: Moist Lamb cooked in berbere sauce (Ok)
5-Gommen : Spinach with onion & garlic (Bad)
6-Doro Watt : Chicken with berbéré sauce (Ok)
For the price of 60$ for 2 persons on what was presented it is too pricey & the food overall was average. The appetizers & main dish both were served with Injera Bread (traditional Ethiopian bread). The service was also average (the waiter was in a hurry to explain the dishes presented) .There were neither plates nor cutlery given (only 2 spoons on the appetizers plate).
Overall – Interesting but average experience
