Huge Sandwiches, Charming Decor & a Lovely Patio

We had a very enjoyable lunch at Le Comptoir de Mamie. The menu was written on a chalkboard in French only, but the staff were incredibly patient & took the time to explain everything to us. They even recommended ordering half a sandwich because the portions are HUGE - & they were absolutely right!

I loved my roasted chicken sandwich, & my daughter really enjoyed her burrata sandwich. The brisket sandwich, however, was just so-so. The mushroom compote was delicious, & we also enjoyed the charcuterie board, although the portion was on the smaller side, especially compared with the very generous sandwiches.

The restaurant itself has so much personality. The interior is charming & whimsical, with stained glass, a wall full of collectible plates & all sorts of little details that make it fun to look around. Even the bathroom had an old-fashioned fixed bar of soap, which somehow fit the quirky character of the place perfectly.

We chose to sit outside on the patio along the pedestrian-only street, which had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The drink selection was also impressive, with local microbrewery beers & a wide variety of wines.

Overall, a charming spot with friendly service, lots of character & some very good food. Definitely worth a stop - & unless you're really hungry, take their advice about the half sandwich!

Le service & l'ambiance sont super, mais ce que nous avons mangé était plutôt décevant. La planche mixte ne vaut vraiment pas le détour. À éviter. Prix très exagéré pour ce qui est proposé, tant au niveau de la qualité que la quantité.

Nouvel endroit sur le plateau au top, pour aller boire un verre en terrasse ou faire une petite soirée à l'intérieur. La déco est rustique & super jolie, les serveurs sympas. Il faut juste attendre un peu 🙌
