After getting rejected from the place across the street NYKS because we have two kids with us, we ended up here. The staff was welcoming, the food was great & atmosphere was the unpretentious atmosphere promised by the other restaurant. Would be happy to come back!View more

Cochon Dingue is an excellent addition to the Quartier des Spectacles. I ordered the beef burger with raw onions instead of caramelized onions & it was delicious. Juicy beef, quality bun & cheese. The fries were good to. They have a wide selection of beers. The restaurant itself is huge & bright with great views. I highly recommend it.View more

I've been twice since they opened & was not disappointed either time. The food great, the menu varied, with large portions & beautifully presented. The service was excellent. The restaurant is beautifully decorated & is spacious & comfortable. The prices were surprisingly affordable for such an impressive restaurant. I will be going often.View more

La pimpante succursale de Montréal n'a rien à envier à sa soeur de Québec city qui, malgré une ambiance plus authentique liée à ses murs anciens, a su s'expatrier de la meilleure des façons jusqu'à nous. La cuisine est des plus savoureuses, & le service rapide & excellent. Le restaurant est magnifique & la nourriture très bonne (pour des prix très raisonnables), mais c'est surtout le service qui était absolument incroyable (très rare de nos jours). Notre serveur était hyper drôle & très attentionné! Les plats sortaient de la cuisine très rapidement, & ce, même si nous étions en pleine haute saison sur l'heure du souper. Shout out aux barmans ; les cocktails étaient goûteux & contenaient réellement de l'alcool (souvent les cocktails goûtent davantage l'eau qu'autre chose dans les restos).View more

Edit: Came back with my friend yesterday for dinner. We ordered the salmon tartare & the salade festive - both were delicious. Due to a small misunderstanding, they kindly offered me a free dessert. I chose the cheesecake, & it was amazing!

Overall a good experience. Food is solid but not otherworldly. Our main was probably worth a 4 stars but definitly not the appetizer nor the dessert or cocktail. Taking the expensive prices into account, the food rating stays at a 3 stars in my opinion.
Service was good but a little too much intruding in my opinion. I know it's commonly done in Canada but no need to ask if the food is good after serving every dish: no one is ever going to say no even if they don't like it & it just interupts the conversation. This was done too much here that I had to write about it.
Best part was the atmosphere & decor. Beautifully done!View more
