Located in the Philips Square district, a few steps from the Quartier des Spectacles and the Bell Center, Le Carré offers Mediterranean-influenced cuisine, inspired by local Quebec products, based on the quality of the products that compose it.
In a friendly yet refined atmosphere, Le Carré is ideal for a casual meal at the counter, a business lunch or a festive evening, all in a cozy-chic setting.
Le Carré delivers a refined yet welcoming dining experience with warm service, stylish decor, and a menu that blends Mediterranean influences with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Dishes range from perfectly cooked octopus and crisp calamari to beef carpaccio, tuna tartare, gnocchi with mushrooms, and rich duck confit pasta, all noted for thoughtful presentation and balanced flavors, while seafood risotto and classics like fish and chips or tartare also receive praise. The wine list and cocktails pair well with meals, and attentive, knowledgeable staff enhance each visit. The intimate setting makes it a good choice for celebrations or a special night out, though seating is limited and pacing can vary. Overall the experience combines quality, creativity and warmth, inviting return visits.
One of kind... Food was mind blowing & is there service. All dishes we ordered was good... but KAMOURASKA SPRING LAMB VARIATION & FRIED CAULIFLOWER was exceptional for sure. Though it was a walk in to this restaurant, they treated us like they know us for ages. Highly recommend to try if you are near Philips square & look for nice place to eat.
This is a small dining room with friendly & attentive service. The food is amazing, & I don't say that often. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The duck confit pasta is a generous portion of rich, meaty, & creamy fresh pasta that I want to eat over & over again. The arancini is large & crispy. The brownie was, well, perfect. Served slightly warm, it had a crackly top with the perfect balance between fudgy & cakey. Because it is a small space, guests are welcomed by being offered tables that they must vacate within 90 minutes, which is a tad annoying when that is the first experience you get from this restaurant. We were able to select a table that they said did not have a "time limit", however. I look forward to going back!
Everyone in my party separately mentioned their meal placed in their top 10 meals of all time. Best caesar salad I've ever had. Incredible menu & staff!! A must go.

I had the pleasure of eating at Le Carre today for a light lunch. The burratta served with garden tomatoes & pesto was excellent & extremely flavourful. The salmon appetizer was plated with asparagus wrapped in seaweed paper & a lovely fresh lemon hollandaise sauce. Our waiter was charming & attentive while allowing us to enjoy our experience. I will be sure to dine here again the next time I am in Montreal.
We may have caught them on a bad night. We enjoyed exactly half of what we ordered - sadly the charred broccoli tasted rather raw & burned & the marinated octopus was overcooked.. & VERY marinated. Staff was very friendly but could have been more attentive. I got my main course without having cutlery & had to ask for it as my food was slowly getting cold. In summary we came with great expectations & were rather disappointed. At 230$ it wasn't exactly a steal either.
Juste parfait. Accueil, service, suggestions.... La nourriture incroyable. Les pâtes au canard, les crevettes limoncello, le saumon, le chou-fleur... wow. Nous avons partagés 3 entrées & 1 plat principal (que l'on a gentiment séparé en deux assiettes) .
Service was excellent. The concept & presentation of dishes is outstanding. The taste & execution not so great. Our appetizer of burrata & tomato salad was delicious. The main dish was stuffed chicken & unfortunately, it was extremely dry, overcooked & with a high acidity content which made the plate difficult to eat. I don't recommend this restaurant.
Went to dine at this restaurant tonight which is located in our hotel. The staff were amazing & kept filing our drinks, even when it was water. The food, wow....it was delicious! From the octopus, to the scallops, to the meats & desserts, we just couldn't stop eating. The ambiance was warm & welcoming. The went the extra mile to make the kids & adults to feel special. Can't wait to return for some more!!! Shawn & Electra & Kids
