Located in the Philips Square district, a few steps from the Quartier des Spectacles and the Bell Center, Le Carré offers Mediterranean-influenced cuisine, inspired by local Quebec products, based on the quality of the products that compose it.

This restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves more attention. The menu is creative & offers a nice balance of classic techniques with modern twists. I was particularly impressed by the dessert selection which was not overly sweet & felt very refined. The prices are fair considering the quality of the ingredients & the level of service provided. Highly recommended for food lovers.
Très bonne table, service impeccable, le serveur connaît sa carte & est de très bon conseil, de l'entrée au dessert, un zéro faute ! Je recommande vivement

Visited in the summer of 2025, had an amazing meal. Even the starter bread & butter was such a good combination. Highlight's from the main included the duck confit pasta, the sauce was rich & lots of depth to the dish. Dessert was a dish that included ice cream & it was flat out best vanilla ice cream ever, so dense & smooth tasting. Overall, highly recommend!
Since Le Carre is attached to a hotel, I expected a corporate style restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised to see they arent afraid to serve good food with an interesting twist.
The calamari & salad were solid starters, & the pea & leek soup was fantastic. The sea bass was quite impressive with a lot of sour notes-almost too much but I appreciate the unique flavor. They nicely split the octopus for us. The streak was tender & I highly recommend the duck pasta.
Desserts were nicely plated & garnished: I wasnt sure what to expect with the brownie but it was rather crispy & elegantly plated. The creme brulee was nice & thin & came out flaming.
Service was good throughout the night, & the interior is small but elegant.
My friend & I reserved for lunch at Le Carré & what a treat it was. Food wise we shared the grilled Halloumi entrée, had different pasta dishes & dessert. Portions were good enough, well presented & simply delicious.
The service was prompt, attentive & polite. We truly discovered a little gem.
This place really surprised us. The menu seemed very mundane but what you were given was high quality ingredients cooked very well.
Started with the brussel sprouts & calamari. The brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection with poached pears with the natural flavor coming out in each bite. The calamari was some of the most crispy bites we've ever had.
Our mains included seafood risotto, lamb shoulder, hanger steak & cod fish & chips. Lamb shoulder hands down the best of the bunch. Tender moist & delicious flavor. Seafood risotto was full of textures & flavor. Fish & chips had a wonderful slaw topped with caviar. Hanger steak was cooked to perfection medium rare with a wonderful char. Flavors were all seasoned & exquisite without being over powered.
Dessert included a lemon pie & cream brûlée. Lemon pie was very different a worth a try & the crème brûlée was probably the most plain but presentation was gorgeous.
We recommend reservations as seats were limited & we lucked out getting a seat. Service was spot on & attentive. Definitely recommend this place.
The food was fantastic, we were blown away by every dish. The servers were very kind & helpful. We both got appetizers, mains & dessert, & I got a glass of wine. All of that for under $200 (before tip). Will be coming here again, we had a great anniversary date! Perfect if you want to eat somewhere fancy, & want to get good food that isn't overpriced.
Service here was absolutely wonderful. My cocktail was great too. Several servers came by to ask if we needed anything & we were very well taken care of.
My issue was with the food.
I ordered'crab ravioli with candied fennel'
My dish did not contain fennel. It contained leeks- which taste nothing like fennel.
Not only was it the incorrect item- they were cut into crude stalk- fibrous hard & inedible.
If, as a restaurant; you run out of a key ingredient that is listed as an ingredient on your menu, it's your responsibility to let the customer know. I might love fennel & dislike leeks. There were more stalks of leeks in my plate than there were ravioli.
The ravioli were not filled with much crab.
The desserts were lovely- & again; the staff was great.
The soft dinner rolls were delicious with the spicy butter.
Excellent restaurant !
