Review Summary

Le Boulevardier is widely recognized as a top-tier destination in downtown Montreal, consistently praised for its elegant atmosphere and exceptional service. Guests frequently highlight the high quality and creative presentation of the French cuisine, with standout dishes including the filet mignon, scallops, and innovative desserts. While many diners appreciate the professional and attentive staff, including the knowledgeable sommeliers, some visitors have noted inconsistencies regarding portion sizes and occasional noise levels during peak hours. Despite varying opinions on pricing and value, the restaurant remains a popular choice for both business lunches and special occasions, with most patrons expressing a strong desire to return for the sophisticated dining experience.

Romantic dinner with boyfriend. The resturant is inside a hotel which caught us off guard. It's on the 2nd floor right up the stairs when you come through the front door of the hotel. Beautiful space with soft lights & music. The staff are friendly & welcoming. They had a little game going on where you can drink as many shots as you want from this whiskey they offered as long as you offered it to the next table. For food, got oysters & rabbit pie pate for appetizers & beef tenderloin with foie gras as entree. Oysters were good, as oysters are. Rabbit pie pate was dense. It was a bit too much even for 2 people to share. Still delicious if you're into pate. Beef tenderloin was amazing! Beautiful medium, perfectly tender & juicy. Dessert was this meringue with cream & fruits. It was light & airy, not too sweet. Good way to end dinner.

Very glad with our experience dining at Le Boulevardier. It was a quiet night as we got pretty late there ; but we appreciated the 1970s reference cool decor, soft music, & views of the city lights. Service was friendly, made personal wine recommendations. The food was above par: creative ingredients, presentation & overall, savory.
Will we go back? Most certainly.

After trying a few restaurants in Montreal, i could feel that le boulevardier is trying to position themselves as a serious French culinary restaurants. The ingredients & cooking techniques of their dishes are thoughtfully selected. I was very happy with my main of the grilled foie gras & tenderloin steak which was very satisfying . As a first time visitor to Montreal , I was ordering on the more cautious side. On the second thought after the meal,, I would go with the $95 food & wine combination to fully appreciate what they try to bring to the table.

We spent 4 days eating around Montreal & this was our best meal. Don't let its hotel location put you off. The dining area is lovely & has a nice view. Our server was also very good. She was concerned that her English was not particularly good, but she spoke very well, & she provided great service. Overall we all enjoyed our entrées, & we would return to the Boulevard without hesitation. I had the beef & it was tender, flavorful & well prepared. We were impressed that the prices were very reasonable for a higher-end hotel restaurant.
