Guests frequently highlight the impeccable, professional service and the expert recommendations provided by the sommelier, which significantly enhance the experience. The restaurant is frequently recommended for special occasions and business gatherings, with many visitors eager to return for the delicious tasting menus and warm, attentive hospitality that define the overall experience.
This was a great meal & evening. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu & very helpful as our guests decided on their meal choice. Sarah was just great in helping us choose 2 wines. It was just a lovely evening. I'd highly recommend the restaurant for high quality fine dining.
Maybe just to summarize, our feeling amongst 4 of us dinning was the food / experience was overall a bit flat . & maybe because it was a Monday night . Subjectively while there was obviously a lot of effort in putting together the menu/ plates , it seemed to lack some burst of flavor or something distinguishing ; & maybe its matter of expectations; objectively , there was long pauses before & between courses , the soup which was interesting , was luke warm , & portions were smallish ; & the wine steward pointed us to very good choice of wine , but left us to pour the rest of bottle ourselves . Our waiter was kind & helpful , & he gladly helped explain the menu & had we felt welcome with no issues with English or our bad French :) ..it certainly could have just been an off night
We went to celebrate my sister's birthday & our whole experience was outstanding! From the beginning, Alexis was friendly, helpful & professional. Tom, the sommelier, was so knowledgeable as well as engaging-with him we discovered a new wine we loved that we probably wouldn't have tried had it not been for him.
The seafood discovery appetizer was delicious & plentiful. It was a great way to sample different seafood.
My brother chose the 5 course tasting menu which was perfectly portioned & a way to try multiple dishes. My steak was delicious & the foie gras was some of the best I have had! The strawberry dessert was a treat-wonderful flavors & not too heavy.
You will pay the price for an amazing meal here but it is worth it, especially if Alexis & Tom take care of you😊)!
They change the menu, so don't be disappointed if something you have seen or heard about in the reviews are not available-you will be happy with the other options!
Went there on a whim with a friend to celebrate the end of the semester. I was the only one who got the 7 course meal with the wine pairing. The food was absolutely amazing, & the service was perfect. Absolutely enjoyed the wine knowledge of the sommelier & the general courtesy of the staff. You cannot go wrong here. Will be back soon!
We had been to this restaurant last year & had an absolute fantastic meal.& fantastic service experience.
The servers were very well polished & made recommendations for wine that were spot on & with good value.
Unfortunately, it was not the case this time. Even though we got similar food items compared to last year. The sizes were much much smaller. In fact, we left the restaurant quite hungry.
The stakes are steak was half the size of last year. The lobster resulted was also 50% smaller.
The octopus came with hardly half of one tentacle for the entire dish.
In addition the somilier was quite aggressive. Suggesting wines to us in the 2 to 300 dollar range to start out with. In fact, his selections were subpar.Compared to last year.
We spent over $1100, without tip, & all of us genuinely felt hungry.& kind of ripped off.
It's too bad, but we had considered the space, a hidden gem in montreal.
Not really a reason to return to this place After the experience, we just had
I've visited several times for lunch & dinner. Great ambience, great food, excellent service. Mains are delicious -- lobster risotto, deer, fish were all great. Cocktail & wine selection is good, & desserts were outstanding.
The service & food were really good, the wine list is extensive as well. I had the striped bass & it was perfectly cooked.
The only downside, when the restaurant filled up, it was so loud I could barely hear the people at my table. Other than that, it was a good experience.
We did the tasting menu with drink pairings, & it was absolutely amazing. They were accommodating & changed two of the courses for me & the sommelier even chose two new wines to pair with them! Amazing selection of Quebec & French wines. Service was great too, everyone was incredibly friendly. & the food was delicious! I don't know if I can pick a favourite as all the courses were delicious! Will definitely be back!
Very expensive for a not so memorable meal. I had the tasting menu, which was quite disappointing. The amusebouche of fish & strawberries tasted only of strawberries. The scallops were good, but not spectacular. The pre dessert was nice, but the dessert was nothing to write home about. I actually don't even remember what it was. The sommelier was very interesting, but the wine, although good, was way overpriced. The evening cost close to $600 for 2 people, which is unreasonable. That being said, my husband enjoyed his steak.
