The concept of this bar is absolutely amazing. Very entertaining, but its thought of. Every drink comes with a clue for the murder mystery you must solve. So thats 6 drinks, $$$. But the service is excellent, although i would have liked for them to explain the concept to me when i got there. Drinks are honestly meh, but thats not what your paying for.
We loved the entry to the speakeasy, it was fun! We did opt to solve the murder mystery which was the perfect amount of challenge. It was like an escape room met a cool bar atmosphere. We were not crazy about the drinks that were apart of the mystery challenge & did want a more simple & widely liked option to chose from. Overall our service was great, the waitress was kind & offered helpful hints to solve the mystery when we needed it. Very cool experience, was fun with a couple but might be better in a larger group where each person could get on drink as you need 6 in total to solve the mystery. When you solve it you do get a prize at the end which was a nice touch!
Whenever someone asks me where to go while in Montreal Le 4ᶱ Mur is one of my top recommendations. Burlesque on Wednesdays toppled with a mystery game you can solve any day of the week. A lot of people go here for the "speakesy" hidden behind a wall schtik but I honestly believe this place is much more than that. A true gem.
Great spot for getting to know people & an amazing idea on how to make people enjoy each other's company - murder mystery & drinks with great people, make a wonderful night.
My parents arrived from Edinburgh, Scotland & my girlfriend & I took them to Le 4 Mur. They LOVED it. It is the first thing that they mention when they talk about their trip. The bouncer out front was so friendly & happy to help us figure out the brick mystery to open the door. Our server Guy was so kind & understanding, because my parents wanted to practice their french. He worked with them to get the right words & was really encouraging. We ordered the Hawaiian cocktail which was by far the most unique cocktail I have ever experienced. It tasted like savoury smoked pineapple, which I was totally not expecting, but it was so delish. The vibe in there is really cool too, with moody decor & ambient lighting. The staff really knew what they were doing. It is a little pricey, but worth it for the unique experience. I'm sure my parents are bragging to their friends back in Scotland. Thanks Guy! I highly recommend a visit here.

Thé staff was lovely & the drinks were great.
We did the murder mystery- although the bartender was very very accommodating, it would have been nice to be able to order the drinks of our choice with the clues, instead of the set menu.
They were delicious but not choices we would usually make for yourselves- which was also a fun adventure.
Visiting from Toronto & this was an amazing experience! We were even able to solve the mystery on our first try/visit!
Great ambiance & staff, would definitely come back if they change the game/murder (:
It was a really pleasant experience! Great cocktails, service & of course, murder mystery theme. The riddle for entering the bar was easier than I expected (I was hyped for it). Looking forward to a second round of drinks & the updated riddle.
PS: The cocktail hidden in the menu was delicious :)

The music was quieter than I expected which I enjoyed because I was able to speak to my group a bit more. The ambiance & the service was really good, drinks holding a lot of unique notes that I enjoyed, but the food left a little bit to be desired. The murder mystery to solve was done very well.
Really nice looking spot. We played the murder mystery, which is where there were issues. We couldn't read the clues due to tiny font size & lighting (seemed to be a common problem based on the flashlights we saw other tables using). The music in the place is lovely, but too loud to be able to hear anyone (making a discussion about whodunnit tough). You can't choose your drinks if you do the mystery & I wasn't a fan of the sweetness. They sold out of most of the food by 9:30. Finally, there were only two waiters for the whole place, so it took forever to get our drinks & we ended up leaving after waiting 30 minutes to see if we were right on the mystery.
It's a great idea, but the execution was bad. If you just go for drinks, you'll have a better time!
We had an absolutely lovely evening at Le 4e Mur. When we first arrived to the given address, we were extremely confused because we couldn't find the place, but once we figured out how to enter (no spoilers here :)), we were hooked. From the ambiance, the 1920s music, the dimmed lighting, the enchanting menu, everything was perfect. We decided to solve the mystery & all the drinks come with interactive clues, it's so fun. Great place to bring someone on a first date since the mystery already gives you a topic of conversation. My friends & I had a blast & all 3 of us agreed that this is our new favourite bar (I have had another favourite bar for YEARS to give you an idea). Cannot recommend this place enough, 126473/10!!!
A truly wonderful experience, I highly recommend for people to go try the murder mystery game they have on their cocktail menu, the server was top notch! He definitely helped us set the mood for the cocktail game we played. Even after playing for two hours they were kind enough to not make us feel pressured to leave. The decor & the music set the theme wonderfully for the game too, we truly felt like it was an immersive experience at a bar, I highly recommend for anyone in groups to go there! 🥰🥰

My wife & I had such a great time. The drinks were fantastic & the idea of solving a murder mystery was fun, unique, & changes every year. We recommend visiting!
Amazing experience ! It has become my favorite bar in Montréal.
1) The ambiance is super well done, you get caught in the prohibitions period decors, it's amazing.
2) The enigma is so fun ! You order cocktails with clues & then solve the mystery. The mystery are solved by a mixed of puzzles & investigation from a cool story. In the end, you get a shot of an AMAZING cocktail, smoked & everyhthing.
3) I went twice in a week to solve the mystery. & the second time I was there on wednesday for the burlesque show & wow ! Lady Joséphine & miami minx performed & there were AMAZING ! It'S really beautiful & in such a beautiful settings.
All in all an amazing experience, it's way more than a simple coktail bar ! If you can, come during burlesque shows or jazz concerts !

Absolutely love this place. Service is excellent, vibe is really cool. It feels like youve been transported to another time. The drink list is excellent & the murder mystery game makes it's a very fun evening!
