Shoppers describe L'artisan délices sans gluten et sans lait as a go-to destination for gluten-free and dairy-free pastries in Montreal, with a broad range of flaky items including croissants, éclairs, chausson aux pommes, pistachio éclairs, millefeuille and a variety of breads. Many note that the flavors and textures rival conventional bakery offerings, with pastries described as light, fluffy and delicious. Several reviewers also comment on affordable pricing for a specialty bakery and friendly service, though a few point to occasional issues such as a soggy warmed spinach pie or a doughy croissant. Allergen safety is highlighted as a major strength, with careful attention to gluten- and dairy-free ingredients and options suitable for celiac and lactose-intolerant customers. Overall the reviews convey a strong sense of loyalty and the impression that this bakery is among the best gluten-free options in the city, with many eager to return and to try more items.
I used to live in Switzerland & loved a good pain au chocolat (chocolatine as they call them here). Now I can't have gluten or lactose. This was by far the best chocolatine I have had & I found it tastier with even darker chocolate than Le Marquis. We tried to go a few years ago but they were either closed or had run out of stock. Highly recommend checking out this bakery if you're on the hunt for an excellent gluten free chocolatine. Also try the escargot & salmon if you're looking for something savory.

This post is concerning the lack of customer service in your bakery on Saturday, February 7th at 2:45 pm.
From the minute I stepped into your establishment until the minute I left, I felt like I was not welcome. Your male employee didn't greet me hello when I entered & he didn't greet me goodbye, either. I simply picked up my order & I left.
I'm not writing this review to give lessons on how important interpersonal skills are in customer service, but I can tell you he could certainly do with a good training. It should be a solid upgrade from what he learned (or didn't, rather) in his country of origin.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do!

Ordered a custom cake here for my girlfriends birthday & it did not disappoint. We've come back a few times to try all their different desserts & pastries & honestly everything is just wonderful, theirs a little bit for everyone. I found the prices to be a smidge cheaper the other GF bakeries, especially in getting a cake done its definitely my top spot!
Wow wow wow !!!
This bakery makes french pastry accessible for the gluten free community. Shared with a family of gluten free & non gluten free eaters, everyone was delighted at how flaky & delicious the pastries were once warmed up in the oven. The fillings are fantastic - we love the chausson au pommes & the spanikopita the best. We will definitely be back & are so grateful for this bakery!

I'm only writing this to maybe help improve the bakery & the baked goods here. Everything I had here was subpar. I was excited to try the gluten-free bagels here, but unfortunately they didn't meet my expectations at all. The texture & shape were closer to a hamburger bun than a traditional bagel, which was disappointing given how they're presented it's also not cool you have to buy the entire bag for $9.99 for 5.
In terms of taste, I found them quite dry & lacking flavor. Presentation-wise I'd rate them around 3/10, & for taste 1/10, based on my personal experience.
I've tried many gluten-free bakeries in different cities, as I have been diagnosed since 2010 & compared to those other places around the world - this one still has MUCH room to grow. It's great they say their bakery has many strong patrons last 10 years I am surprised it has such high reviews here? Not sure if it's cause Montreal doesn't have many gluten-free spaces
Service was also a bit abrupt during my visit, which affected the overall experience. Disappointed & was expecting a lot since the reviews were so high but all 3 items ordered was a total MISS for me. The spinach pie horrible, the croissant was bad & the bagels ugh waste of money total MISS
I'm visiting Montreal & decided to stop by L'Artisan des Délices sans gluten & sans lait after seeing multiple reviews from May saying it was one of the better gluten-free bakeries in the city. Based on the feedback, I had fairly high expectations.
I ordered a spinach pie & accepted their offer to warm it up, but I was disappointed from the first bite. The texture of the dough was worse once warmed-very soggy & unpleasant, even compared to how it looked in the display case. At $8.95, I expected something much better. I also assumed there would be some kind of cheese component (even dairy-free), but it tasted like plain spinach only, which made it feel underwhelming & not worth the price.
I also tried the plain croissant. While it looked flaky, it ended up being doughy & soggy in the middle. I understand that many gluten-free baked goods use rice flour, which can affect texture, but this still missed the mark for me.
I picked up a bag of bagels as well ($9.99 for 5), which I haven't tried yet. I'm hoping those turn out better, because so far I haven't been impressed with the baked goods I sampled.
Overall, this felt like a waste of both money & appetite, especially since I went out of my way to visit. Based on this experience, I wouldn't return on a future trip to Montreal & would Just skip eating baked goods & these types of products altogether.
