I am writing to share a review of a wonderful find in LaSalle, Montréal: Il L'artisan de la pasta. If you're craving Italian comfort food with a truly'at-home' feel, this is a place that quietly wins your heart.
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming-with soft lighting, beautiful décor, & service that makes you feel like a guest in someone's home rather than just a customer. The menu features classic Italian favorites prepared with genuine care. Every dish tastes authentic & nostalgic, as if the recipes have been passed down through generations.
The standout, however, is the cheesecake. It is impossibly smooth & creamy, elevated by a delicate orange zest that adds the perfect amount of brightness. It is a truly unforgettable dessert.
While I can be a tough critic, I believe this restaurant deserves a 5-star rating for its exceptional food, beautiful service, & wonderful staff. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.
What an incredible experience. Paolo is clearly passionate about what he does, & it shows in every dish that comes out of the kitchen. His cooking feels like true artistry - thoughtful, refined, & full of soul. Each plate is beautifully executed & packed with flavor.
You can really feel the care & dedication behind the food & the atmosphere of the restaurant. Congratulations to Paolo & Alessandro for creating such a special place. It's not easy to build something this genuine & memorable.

After having several opportunities to visit this place-highly recommended by many-I finally went tonight, & it exceeded my expectations.
I had the homemade cavatelli with wild mushrooms & buffalo, followed by a plate of fettuccine with a superb ragù. The desserts were phenomenal. The cheesecake was exactly as described-the best in the city & certainly the best I've ever had. I also tried Paolo's apple dessert, which was equally divine.
The service from Alessandro was both personal & professional. You can truly see how much they love what they do-the passion for their food is unmistakable. Chef Paolo himself comes out to explain the dishes & share his enthusiasm, which makes the experience even more special.
I'm genuinely happy to see that there are still a few truly excellent restaurants in Montreal. Although it's a bit out of the way in LaSalle, it is absolutely worth the drive-especially compared to the repeated disappointments found elsewhere in the city.

Absolutely incredible spot to grab 100% authentic Italian food. The menu changes regularly so it never gets old. Alessandro & Chef Paolo are 1 of a kind. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves & appreciates great homemade Italian food that is BYOW.
What an incredible dining experience! Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious - from the starters to the pastas to the dessert, everything was bursting with flavor & perfectly prepared. Le service est incroyable dans une ambiance simple & de bon goût. Toutefois, la nourriture, n'a pas été au rdv. On a beau faire des pâtes maisons, mais la sauce ainsi que la farce doivent aussi être au même niveau. J'avais beaucoup d'espérance en lisant les commentaires, j'ai été très déçue, c'est dommage! Les prix sont aussi très élevés. Oui c'est un restaurant apportez votre vin & je comprends que les prix sont un peu plus hauts, mais il y a un juste milieu quand même.

Really delicious homemade food! This is fresh Italian pasta done properly. We tried the lunch menu, which was excellent, & it made us curious to come back for supper eventually since that menu has even more variety.
I also have to give a special mention to the bread. The baguette served at the beginning had a crisp coating of toasted flour, giving the entire outer crust such an enjoyable crunch. Inside, the bread was unbelievably soft, moist, & fresh.
