Review Summary

Laon restaurant is described as a cozy, calm spot with attentive staff and a welcoming vibe, where quick, flavorful meals are paired with reasonable prices and generous portions. Diners praise the cheolpan with its side dishes, bibimbap, jeon, and soondubu, noting that the flavors are satisfying and comforting, especially on cold days in Montreal. It is viewed as a reliable destination for comforting Korean food in a small, peaceful setting that suits casual visits as well as celebratory meals such as birthdays or anniversaries, with regulars returning for favorites. The service is repeatedly highlighted as top notch and friendly, with thoughtful touches like extra bowls and utensils to share meals and help on busy or special occasions. Some notes mention minor menu caveats such as bibimbap missing pickled vegetables, but overall the experience is described as delicious, warming, and worth revisiting. In sum, Laon restaurant comes across as a warm, flavorful, value friendly option that stands out for its atmosphere and consistent quality in the Montreal area.

Very nice small restaurant, very attentive staff. We went mid day & is was not busy, & our food came in 5-10 minutes. I really appreciate how quiet & peaceful it is, a lot of restaurants are too loud to talk in. Very calm & nice here. Bibimbap lacked picked vegetables unfortunately, but everything is very flavorful & good otherwise.

If you're seeking East Asian food in the midst of poutine & burgers this is the place. On my 3rd day in Montreal, this hit the spot for flavor packed comfort meal. We got the jeon (seafood pancake) - so crispy even when we had the last pieces toward the end of the meal, the cheolpan (pork on hot plate) - so saucy & just the perfect spice level, & soondubu jigae (tofu soup) - stayed hot throughout the meal since it's in a stone pot & the flavor wasn't the the typical one from like BCD but still great. Owner also offered vegetable dumplings as service since it was New Year's Eve, the dumplings looked unassuming but they were packed & HOT. The flavors, the temp of the food, oh & the cute vibes of the store really hit. The owner was also super considerate, without asking, he provided cute bowls, extra utensil sets, & extra napkins when we said we were going to share the meal. He had brought each dish out on a serving plate intended for individual consumption but was quick to move the dishes into a shared setup when we said we will share the dishes. Perfection
