My recent visit to this pastry shop left me quite underwhelmed. The employees were pleasant & the initial display of pastries was appealing, though they seemed a bit small for the price. I was willing to overlook the cost, hoping the artisan quality & taste would justify it.
Unfortunately, the two pastries I purchased were very disappointing. Both were noticeably dry, & the cream fillings tasted like the cheapest quality ingredients, leaving an unpleasant, greasy coating in my mouth. I also ordered a cortado, which was simply basic.
Ultimately, the quality of the pastries does not justify the prices charged. My overall experience was a 2-3/10.
My one suggestion to the shop would be this: never compromise on the key ingredients that form the foundation of your business. The current lack of quality in the foundational ingredients is the main issue.
Small local coffee shop. The coffee was good & the place was clean, but the staff wasn't very friendly & there was no toilet paper in the washroom. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it
One of the best bakery I have tried in Montreal. The selection of items is great, & the staff is very welcoming, kind, & go above & beyond when it comes to unexpected situations.
My only complaint is about Too Good To go: their surprise bag mentions & I quote'surprise bag filled with baked goods'. I might just be unlucky but most, if not all, bags I have ordered during the week contain unrelated items, like pasta salads. I am all for saving food, but the description might need to be changed, & the content of the bags could be mixed with other bags to also include baked items with the one salad, instead of three salad bowls. It is, in the end, a bakery & people have a certain expectation as to what a Too Good To Go bag might contain from there. The bags I get on Sundays & Mondays always contain baked goods though, a positive thing to mention.
Éclair Paris-Brest dur comme de la roche. J'ai tenté de le manger 10 min après l'avoir acheté, c'est sensé être frais, pas congelé. J'ai ensuite encore attendu 20min lorsque j'étais assise dehors & ça a même pas décongelé au complet. La crème était toute dure. J'ai mangé un peu puis c'est tout. Dommage. Je trouve que la qualité a diminué. L'année dernière j'y suis allée 2 fois & c'était DÉLICIEUX. Je ne sais pas ce qui s'est passé depuis mais pour le prix qui est élevé je m'attends à quelque chose de vraiment bon...
Les viennoiseries sont correctes, sans plus. Les pâtisseries sont bonnes. Par contre, le service à la clientèle est vraiment décevant : aucune sympathie, aucune chaleur, & c'est regrettable pour une petite boulangerie de quartier.
Honnêtement, je préfère marcher plus longtemps & aller ailleurs, simplement parce que l'accueil ici n'est pas du tout agréable. Dommage car beaucoup de potentiel
