About us
L'Ambroisie and L'Espace Canal are located in the courtyard of Chateau St-Ambroisie, a historical heritage building situated on the edge of the Lachine Canal in the St-Henri district of Montreal. Only a few minutes from downtown, the restaurant welcomes a business clientele and groups of friends, in a casual atmosphere. Stuart Abrams, chef and owner, invites you to discover his establishment, renowned for its terraces and elegant reception rooms.

Our Happy Hour are every Tuesday to Friday from 4pm to 7pm. In the summer, watch for our Thursday's Live music! on the terrace.

Private rooms for 60 to 250 people banquet formula or up to 500 people cocktail formula. We also have a private conference room with about 30 seats in the restaurant. Audiovisual packages available.

We have 2 large terraces with 200 seats, the first communicates with the restaurant and the second is on the waterfront, annexed to the Espace Canal for private events. Ask about our "4 season terrace packages" for your private events.

We had our wedding at L'Espace Canal this past weekend & I am so glad that we chose this venue! First, L'Espace canal is absolutely beautiful. Second, our venue coordinator (Alexandra) & the L'Ambroisie/L'Espace Canal chefs & staff were fantastic throughout the entire engagement/planning process. The venue worked closely with us to customize a Southern Food buffet station to reflect my Georgia (USA) roots. They were open to suggested recipe changes, & the food turned out great - our guests were raving! Alexandra did an amazing job setting up the decorations & coordinating the arrival of other vendors. I did not have to worry about a thing on my wedding day - everything was beautiful & set up exactly to my specifications. During the wedding, the staff & bartenders were very professional & attentive to both us as bride & groom, as well as our guests. Our wedding was at L'Espace Canal was an absolute dream. We contacted them as we are looking for a wedding venue. They were hardly available to meet with us, only during a limited period in the middle of the day. Communication was very complicated; we exchanged a few emails with Alexa, she wasn't particularly helpful, did not even get a reply to the last email. If now is so hard to communicate with them, I don't even want to imagine contacting them to plan the event, or to solve an unforeseen issue... We chose another venue for our wedding, no way I would ever attempt to plan anything there.View more

Had an absolutely wonderful wedding experience here! Our coordinator leading up to the event, Dietrich, did an excellent job answering our many questions & helping to ensure we felt confident & comfortable going into the event. During the day of the wedding we worked with Alexa, who took on all of the decorating & details of the space perfectly. The venue is gorgeous, the food delicious (almost every guest commented how on amazing the food was), & the DJ hired through the space was perfect! The venue takes care of almost everything for the wedding so we had very little to worry about in the days leading up to the event. We had our wedding at L' Ambroisie in May 2024. It was a dream. The location is ideal ( ceremony, cocktail hour, reception), offers overnight parking if needed. Staff is accommodating to special requests & really go out of their way to make it happen. Special Shout Out to Dietrich ( the most patient, accommodating & fun coordinator to work with), Amber ( the reception capitain) & Jonathan ( probably the best bartender in MTL) who made our day amazing. Price is well worth it & very reasonable & they offer many options. Amazing open bar, great DJ. They recommend vendors that are good to use because they know the venue inside & out. The food is SO good & there are many options to chose from. Great places to take photos as well. Overall, beautiful venue, great staff, amazing wedding !!View more
