Had a great experience at Lala Masala in Saint-Jean! The food was delicious, fresh, & full of flavor. The portions were generous, & everything tasted authentic & well-prepared. The staff was also friendly & welcoming, which made the experience even better.
Definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys good-quality Indian food. I'll definitely be coming back! 🍛🔥
Really disappointed with my recent visit to Lala Masala. The food quality has gone downhill fast compared to my earlier visits just a few months ago.
The biggest issue was the service. Our waitress brought out all the food at once, no gap between appetizers & the thali. We had to send it back to the kitchen ourselves. When we asked about it, the waiter admitted the kitchen was pushing them to send everything out together, & then had the audacity to say the food would get cold if they waited.
Ironically, when the food was brought back out a little later, it had actually gone cold, which was disappointing given that was the very thing they said they were trying to avoid.
After multiple visits where I've enjoyed the food, this experience felt like a real drop in standards. Won't be rushing back unless they fix their kitchen-to-table coordination.
I tried Lala Masala's Chole Bhature for the first time, & they were absolutely amazing! The taste was authentic & truly Indian-style. The service was excellent as well. The young man who served us was very attentive, & treated us with great hospitality. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, & I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Indian food.
OMG!!! Go eat here now! The food was unbelievable! The service impeccable! The staff were so friendly. So many options it was so hard to choose. The waitress made some great suggestions & they were all super delicious. The naan was like nothing else, so fluffy & had this hint of sweetness. Lala Masala is a 10/10!!! I will definitely be returning.
Absolutely loved our experience at Lala Masala in the West Island. The food was fresh, full of flavour & you can really tell everything is made with care. Even if you're not vegetarian, you won't miss the meat at all because every dish is so satisfying & packed with authentic Punjabi flavours.
What really made our visit stand out was the host. He was incredibly warm & welcoming & took the time to walk us through the menu, explain the different dishes & even share the story behind the restaurant. That personal touch made the whole experience feel so genuine.
The restaurant is clean the portions are generous & the prices are more than fair for the quality you get. We already can't wait to go back & try more of the menu. Such a hidden gem in the West Island.
Many dessert options as well , & the ice cream is heavenly !
I was so excited to try out Lala Masala as it is close to my work & hotel but I am so disappointed about the service provided to me. I asked the waitress about no onion-garlic options. She told me to order goal gappa (paani puri) that she confirmed will be made without onion & garlic. I asked multiple times informing I do not eat onion & garlic. As she confirmed, I ordered. I ate 4 paani puri out of the 8 delivered, then I noticed onion pieces in puri stuffing. I checked & raw cut onions were in all the puri masala. I called waitress, a different lady came this time. I explained the situation & asked for replacement. She literally brings me 4 goal gappa only. In a way, I get half order of what I had originally ordered. They did not give bill before asked me to swipe card so I paid tip without knowing they charged me for goal gappa also. Receipt gets printed after card is processed. I saw receipt in case & I am still surprised they did not even have curtsey to make replacement order with full 8 paani puri but they charged me full price for 8 paani puri, as if they delivered full dish what I ordered. Food was good but if there is 0 star, I would give 0 star for my expereince with service. At least, I take out 1 star for each of these - 1) I do not eat onion-garlic even otherwise & this was 9th day of gupt navratri, very auspicious day that I ended up eating onions during Navratri, 2) they did not deliver full dish of what I ordered - no onion-garlic full plate of paani puri, 3) they charged me for the paani puri. 4) I paid tip, at least at that time they should have accepted their mistake & offered something to make up for their mistake.
We had Great dinner at lala masala , we had veg thali - bharta, dal makhani , kadhi & tanduri chap . Everything was very tasty . I will recommend everyone if they want authentic Indian veg food .
I've been looking forward to trying indian food at Lala Masala for awhile now, & was so glad that I did! The food was so delicious & the service was really great, too!'
Even the staff was so good & friendly.
