Neighborhood restaurant, offering imaginative local cuisine prepared with quality ingredients.
Previously found at this address was a fire station exclusive to Shop Angus. Today, it is still a barrack but one where we eat, converted into trendy bar-restaurant and friendly.
Behind the red brick facade: a high ceiling, a subdued atmosphere with an industrial feel. Outside, the terrace reveals a great chic space for meeting friends.
Our Specialties
Mixology, Cocktails, Homemade Dessert, Tartares, Oysters, Fish & Chips, Black Angus Steak, High Meats, Fried Chicken, Gluten Free Poutine, Quebec Pork and Bao Buns.
Labarake Caserne à Manger offers a warm, stylish setting with brick walls and tasteful lighting, ample parking and a terrace, and guests consistently praise friendly service and a diverse menu that includes beef tartare, gnocchi, burrata with pears and pumpkin purée, and a satisfying poutine or burger. The ambiance is not too loud, making it suitable for groups and celebrations, while the overall experience is enhanced by attentive staff, a charming decor, and good value for money. While a few visits note occasional missteps on busy nights such as a lobster ravioli lacking lobster and timing issues, these instances seem to be outweighed by many positive impressions and a willingness to return.
We love this place & go all the time, But the service is inconsistent , today is Wednesday May 29th 8.30pm , we called 4 times & no answer so we thought maybe they were closed but did a drive by anyways: We turned up & they were open, as one of our fav oyster spots we were so happy but a little confused why the phone wasn't answered. For fun we tested the phone line , it was on mute & we could see it flashing. They're probably understaffed but as a business owner myself , I know this would be the very last resort to being understaffed, so i hope they know that's the case & this wasn't a rogue agent hurting the business they work for . Happy to elaborate to owner or manager if they need , ive been here at least 20 times

My wife & I dined at Labarake on Saturday night - I think we got the last table, so best to make a reservation. Service was friendly & efficient. Food was very good: we couldn't make those dishes at home, but they weren't over the top pretentious either. Fresh ingredients, good combinations, great taste. Atmosphere was warm: I checked a couple times, all tables were deep in conversation, no one was looking at their phone!
