Neighborhood restaurant, offering imaginative local cuisine prepared with quality ingredients.
Previously found at this address was a fire station exclusive to Shop Angus. Today, it is still a barrack but one where we eat, converted into trendy bar-restaurant and friendly.
Behind the red brick facade: a high ceiling, a subdued atmosphere with an industrial feel. Outside, the terrace reveals a great chic space for meeting friends.

Labarake Caserne à Manger offers a warm, stylish setting with brick walls and tasteful lighting, ample parking and a terrace, and guests consistently praise friendly service and a diverse menu that includes beef tartare, gnocchi, burrata with pears and pumpkin purée, and a satisfying poutine or burger. The ambiance is not too loud, making it suitable for groups and celebrations, while the overall experience is enhanced by attentive staff, a charming decor, and good value for money. While a few visits note occasional missteps on busy nights such as a lobster ravioli lacking lobster and timing issues, these instances seem to be outweighed by many positive impressions and a willingness to return.
My friends & I were in Montreal for the weekend & wanted buck a shuck oysters. We found this hidden gem through Google so we decided to come here. This place did not disappoint! Overall, the place is clean & the vibe was good. They played great pop music. We must have gotten 6 dozens of their Malpeque oysters. They were pretty fast too, we didn't have to wait long for them. We also got their calamari & salmon tartare. The calamari was very well-seasoned & cooked beautifully. The salmon tartare was also good. Our server, May Kelsea, was great! She was very friendly & helpful. She kept checking in on us to make sure we were still okay. She even recommended drinks to our group. Since we spoke very little French & their menu was only in French, she also offered to translate & explain the items on the menu. I really can't say anything bad about her. May Kelsea, thank you for taking great care of us! We appreciate you!
We love this place & go all the time, But the service is inconsistent , today is Wednesday May 29th 8.30pm , we called 4 times & no answer so we thought maybe they were closed but did a drive by anyways: We turned up & they were open, as one of our fav oyster spots we were so happy but a little confused why the phone wasn't answered. For fun we tested the phone line , it was on mute & we could see it flashing. They're probably understaffed but as a business owner myself , I know this would be the very last resort to being understaffed, so i hope they know that's the case & this wasn't a rogue agent hurting the business they work for . Happy to elaborate to owner or manager if they need , ive been here at least 20 times
I go at least a twice a month. I want to applaud the oyster shuckers!!! It's not an easy job & you guys rock at it.
For as long as there are 1$ oysters, I am a customer for life.
The oysters are fresh, yummy & they open them in record time. Give them a raise!

The waitress was excellent ! I come here very often for the 1$ oysters. Some were not fresh & without me asking she replaced them free of charge. I'm extremely grateful & recommend this place to everyone.
It's my second time in three weeks.
I am à raw oyster addict so I want to especially give a huge shout out & show my great fullness to the team who worked on Tuesday May 9th for getting the oysters out in record time. It's not an easy task & they need to be commended.
The waitress was great! Every visit is always 5/5.
Keep up the awesome work & please never stop the 1$ oysters lol. You have a customer for life.
Sincerely Stephanie H.
Our first visit will not be our last.
Although it is far from our area(35minute drive no traffic) it was worth the trip.
We found it through the Oyster fest webpage & we are happy we chose it.
The place has a great vibe & the servers were friendly & helpful.
The oysters were great & the bubbly delicious
We each had an omelette & we both agreed one of the best ever, absolutely huge & simply fantastic flavours.
Look forward to trying the dinner menu on our next visit.
Our compliments to the restaurant

The 1$ special for the oysters is everything. These are the best oysters i've eaten in my life! The tuna tartare wasn't the best & the week before i got the beef tartare & the tuna was way better if we compare bath...Anyways, beside that negative comment about the tartare, the service was amazing & the waitress that i got was very Nice. I will go back again
Delicious! Tuna tartare is the best I've ever had. Oysters are incredible. Generous portion sizes & fresh, high quality ingredients. Will definitely return & highly recommend!

Amazing service & good vibe (even on a Monday!). Oysters were very fresh, grilled octopus was delicious & loved the healthy dessert option with the berry/honey/mint salad. Thanks for a great evening!
