La Soupière Malatang & Thé offers a customizable Asian dining experience in Montréal. Malatang is a popular concept in Asia: you choose your fresh ingredients — meats, seafood, vegetables and noodles — then select your broth, from mild to spicy. Your bowl is prepared to order.
We use only fresh ingredients, prepared daily, and our menu draws inspiration from a variety of Asian flavors. Every meal includes access to our complimentary sauce bar, house beverages and a free ice cream.
Overall, La Soupiere Malatang earns praise for flavorful, varied malatang with many broth and sauce options, a wide range of fresh ingredients, and reliable, friendly service, plus a free ice cream at the end and a bright, comfortable atmosphere in downtown Montreal; while some diners note that pricing is by weight and can feel a bit higher than comparable places, the breadth of choices and the quality make it a standout for both first timers and regulars.
The waitresses weren't very friendly & took a long time to serve us: a friend of mine asked for a fork instead of chopsticks, & the soup went from hot to lukewarm. They should offer a wider selection of noodles. The broth is excellent, & the ingredients (especially the seafood) are very fresh.
Montréal has always been weaker in comparison to Toronto & Vancouver when it comes to good Asian food. I'm very glad that is slowly changing with many new fantastic establishments opening up, & one of the front runner in bringing this change is La Soupiere Malataang.
This is a truly incredible place. The raw meat selection is fantastic & very fresh. The vegetable options are decent but nothing to write home oabout. The meat selection is on the other hand is good. The broth options are fantastic too & they are incredibly rich & full bodied.
As a torontonian native & having tried Malataang in Toronto, I am happy that Montreal probably has one of the best Malataang restaurant between the both cities.
The drinks are great. The milk tea is an underrated cheat code in the city. For 3.99 it beats out many other milk tea spots in its vicinity.
The servers are incredible, extremely professional & will go out of their way to accommodate you fully. They are always checking in on you & serving you with a smile.
I really hope they can keep their early momentum going for a very long time.

This restaurant delivers an excellent dining experience from start to finish. The menu offers a wide variety of broths, including both mild & spicy options, each well?balanced & aromatic. Ingredient quality is clearly a priority - vegetables were crisp, meats were well?marbled, & seafood tasted fresh. Service was efficient & friendly, with staff checking in regularly without being intrusive. The space is clean, comfortable, & well?ventilated, which makes a big difference. Overall, a reliable & delicious choice for anyone craving a satisfying meal. The unli ice cream is a plus! :) will surely comeback to bring more friends.
The price is calculated by weight so it comes to 4,49$ / 100g for ingredients of your choice. The sauce bar, the broth & the ice cream are included in the total price. Would really recommend !
A nice spot for malatang in downtown Montreal. It's $4.49 per 100g. There's a wide variety of ingredients to choose from, all organized neatly, & the space is spacious with plenty of natural light. Service was friendly & efficient. We went with the malatang broth & regular bone broth - the bone broth on its own was a bit salty & one-dimensional, but paired with the malatang base it worked well.
The food was very good! It's $4.99/100gr
You choose first & then you go to have your plate weighed & you choose your soup flavour.
I paid for mine $23 & my bf 31$
We didn't finish so took home the leftovers & we had dinner the next day.
The only'negative' thing is the waiting time, it's always around 30 minutes minimum. But it is worth it.
We are coming back because I do want to ey the bone broth!!
PS they give you ice cream for free once you're done. I really liked it!

It was delicious! Many fresh ingredients to choose from as well as a diverse choice of broth. I highly recommend this place. Everything was clean & the staff were super nice & helpful. It also includes a free ice cream after your meal, which is super nice for dessert!
Really nice selection of items to add to your shop, everything looks fresh. I had the spicy broth, it was delicious! My total was just over $20 including a drink & I was very satisfied with the meal. Can't wait to go again!

As soon as my being stepped into this fine establishment, I was certain that I was in for an exquisite experience. After dining here, my suspicions were confirmed as; the beef was juicy, broth, tender & the service, where do I even start. The kindness of the waiters was akin to an angel's warm embrace, words simply cannot describe it. Kinda mid 7/10.
It's my first time trying Malatag, & the portions are great. The broth is so yummy. The Ice cream was so good as well. Thank you to one of the meployees Mei, who was very friendly & answered my questions!
