Open since 1985, our restaurant offers a Swiss and European cuisine which is very comforting, including our traditional raclette dish. Founded in the Swiss Alps, this typical dish is offered here with the same authenticity as where it came from. La raclette, which is also the name of the cheese used for this dish comes from the action of scraping the cheese melted by a heat source to your plate. So you can enjoy this dish already prepared for you in your plate or using our oven that allows you to heat and scrape the cheese at your table. Also, in the purest tradition, this dish is served with cold meats (ham and beef) which comes from the region of Grisons in Switzerland, our pickles and pickled onions and potatoes. The quality of ingredients and simplicity are all the charm of this traditional raclette.
Moreover, apart from our traditional raclette dish, we offer a variety of other delicious dishes that stem from a long tradition of Swiss and European cuisine, such as our fondue cheese, thinly sliced veal Zurich and other delights to discover...
La Raclette is described as a cozy, warm spot where the cheese is a highlight and portions are generous, with the service and atmosphere frequently praised. Many reviews note that the prices can feel high for what is offered, with extra charges for certain raclette options or supplements for more meat, and some mention a sparse vegetarian raclette option. The cheese quality and fondue are repeatedly praised, and the accompaniments such as charcuterie and potatoes are cited as strong points, with desserts like a chocolate dome receiving compliments. The service is often described as friendly, attentive, and efficient, though a few comments point to slower service when the venue is busy. BYOW is highlighted as a plus in several reviews, and the overall experience is seen as a good fit for date nights or groups, with many saying they would return despite price concerns.
Everything was very good. I found that the tables are a little too close together. We were next to the door so that barrier helped us to hear each other so not too much of a problem. Will be back.
Il y avait beaucoup trop de patates dans les plats raclette dans un bol. Moi seulement j avais 16 morceaux de patates. Vraiment beaucoup trop. & Environ 8 petites crevettes nordiques .
Genuinely fantastic place to eat in Montreal. The food was amazing, we had 3 courses each & everything was fantastic. The service was second to none, absolutely great. Overall a highlight of our multi city break in Canada.
I dined at La Raclette with several friends in Sept 2023. We had the salmon confit, fried eggplant with creamed burrata, la raclette for 2, & rib eye steak, not including the desserts! Everything was delicious, cooked perfectly, & presented well. The owners are lovely, great ambiance, & tucked away in a quaint neighborhood. This was one of the most memorable meals our group had. Highly recommend!
Merci beaucoup!
